It's part of the front bumper. Also, if you cut it out, the foam absorber and reinforcement bar will be visible.

I know it's part of bumper since I met a member at a meet and he had to get his bumper replaced... Twice actually, since dealer ordered/received wrong bumper.

Thinking of getting mine smoothed out and painted gloss black, but seeing that SWP paint might be nice too,...

Yea it cant be removed unless you like foam or wait for a kit that extends over it..

yeah i wonder if someone will come out with a cover piece that is smooth and can be painted over... kind of like the CF overlays that are available for the rear "diffuser" piece.

See, I thought it always WAS called the mouth guard since it's unveiling in November of 2011? I've always called it that. I hadn't seen it referred to as a mustache until recently.

I'm thinking of getting it, the side mirror bases and rear diffuser/exhaust area vinyl-wrapped gloss black.

anyone actually paint the front bumper in the end? gloss black would be nice on a white brz i think
