Different Color Undehood from Body? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Just noticed that a number of metal items are painted a darker blue than WRB. Firewall, radiator support, strut towers, etc. Weird. And there's overspray from the WRB exterior color in parts.

Subaru cars are always like this. different color engine bay and underbody paint. it is usually a similar color.......like WRB and plain blue or SWP and plain white. this is normal.

That is the base coat of the paint job. They do not put the top coat on stuff inside.

Uhh. OK. It doesn't really bother me too much from a color standpoint, but it would have been nice I think to have more paint there to resist rust, etc. Oh well.

it's just the basecoat... it's really weird when you see a car that's shiny and colorful, but the engine bay is a flat gray.....

It was wrecked. Throw the car away, I'll send a guy out there to pick it up for you

take it back to the dealer and DEMAND that they paint the engine bay the same color, and wax it too. and don't forget to Opti-Coat the whole bay too when you get it back.

yeah my Hot Lava is brown inside there without the clear and metallic. lol I will probably end up detailing it out someday and going all semi flat black.
