Not to gush on and on about it (okay maybe a little), but it's also worth mentioning that despite *thrashing* my tires on Saturday, I used less than 0.5/32nds of tread in 80 minutes of running.

...I'm going to be stuck with the stock tires forever. >.<

You just need to push the back end harder. I wish I had measured my tires before and after, for comparison 's sake. Maybe if we get this set up, I'll do before and after measurements.

I wish I had something like this instead of throwing myself to the wolves at a regular track day. I have had a few close calls from either myself or someone else missing a shift out taking a bad line. With minimal passing and short laps not frustrating the person behind you for not getting around when the had the chance makes this type of event the best for beginners. I watched the vids nice job both of you guys I would break a little later and an earlier apex would allow you to safely carry more speed on those cheap ass tires. But that looked like a crazy amount of fun!

I tried braking later and early apexing, but got better times by late apexing the shit out of everything. The whole track is a compromise corner leading to a series of fast corners. If you push the first corner too hard, you'll ruin the next few corners. It's an interesting learning experience. Also trying to early apex is much harder on the brakes in the long run. Mine smelled terrible for the first two sessions until I learned the track better and stopped having to brake so often and so hard.

Yeah each track is different and on the tight tracks like bondo west trail breaking is superior to late breaking hard in a lot of areas and at amp a late apex on some corners is faster because of the next turn. I think better tires and breaks and you guys would have been dominating that little track but I know all about trying to preserve that stock equipment. Still fun and alot easier on the wallet

I'm interested. Cost would be the deal breaker, but I'd like to try this.

I'm interested depending on cost of course, and also keeping in mind that I have never been at a track event, not even taking the beginners course at one. I have been meaning to but haven't gotten around to it. It's been mentioned more than once that this type of thing would be best for beginners, and I'm about as green as they come...

just keep in mind the shorter you go the more wear you place on the dampers. It would be better to get extended top hats.

This^

Look into the ones from turn in concepts. Those are just fronts though.
