I've been eyeing both kits, Innovate and Vortech. I actually enjoy Dezoris' videos, and am looking forward to his final video. |

I meant for complete kit (from Vortech). Innovate also comes with a tune for $3500
EDIT: Also by install issues, I just meant, extraordinarily long install time for a supercharger + a few issues that have been popping up after install. Mostly due to the complexity of it I'm sure. Nothing against Vortech, I just like the look of Innovate better, seems like a better package to me. |

Not only that, but for track use Innovate looks like a much better powerband. I just see more downsides for Vortech

I'm anxious to see the final video of the OP's install to see what problems he ran into and to see his take on his car after the install of the kit.

Yeah, I don't think anything will considering they are the only kit not dealing with an IC and IC piping...

At least for the non-intercooled version. The stage 2 (intercooled) kit has a heat exchanger with piping, water pump, and the intercooler plate. Preliminary pricing was only $1000 more than the preliminary pricing for the non-intercooled version. at a theoretical $4500, and supposedly capable of more torque and a better powerband for certain situations, even the stage 2 kit, with all its extras, looks to be a mighty good deal (assuming it ever comes out).

Obviously I would like to see results from that kit but would not want to be buying their launch product without STEEP discount.

I like both kits they are hard to compare because they deliver power differently. One thing to add is as a former sprintex customer I was very impressed how easy they are to install and how durable they are even not running an inter cooler. There will be a ton of build vids but I doubt any as entertaining as this one.

Should be a fun video.
Basing the time and complications to install any kit is really an enormous variable when considering a forced induction option. Nobodies skills are the same and peoples access to the tools that make EVERYTHING faster are not always consistent. What might take me only half a day might take someone else 30+ hours to do a job. That doesn't make the install hard it just means someone else isn't as fast or not as skilled or lacks the resources to be faster. I think the only way to really make a decision on a system based on time would require a realistic evaluation of your own skill and capabilities. Even those who think they are capable or have an abundance of experience may take way longer than one would expect because again not everyone is the same. I don't personally see anything complicated with the Vortech, Innovate, or any of the forced induction systems out there for our cars but that's because nothing about them are foreign to me. I did get the feeling that the trailer for the video was insinuating a negative overall experience with Vortech BUT it is a trailer and trailers are suppose to catch your attention even if they may be a little misleading to do so. For all we know it has a happy ending and the initial install stress was worth it in the end to this particular end user. The Vortech kit makes this car fun that it for certain in my opinion. Let's not forget there are always those one-off issues that arise and that can stop even the best of enthusiasts in their tracks but I would caution making a decision based on a one-off circumstance (i.e. bent charge pipe). That is just the nature of the game....... something always comes up at some point or another whether it be this install or another.
