I'll bid $1 Bob.

Idk honestly, give me some ranges.

100-200 seems good, but I'm not sure if that's high or low

I'm sure I can find buckets and water tight lids around town.

First I have to get a dent repaired and that area re coated though (Marc@autolavish) before I wash again

Hello there. I'm a complete n00b when it comes to detailing as I don't normally care as long as the car is clean. Anywho, we now have two red cars in the garage and it seems that it's difficult to not have swirl marks on them. Any suggestion to remove/avoid them would greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

you would probably need a machine polisher

Griot's Orbital Polisher Swirl Remover Kit

I have tried to read as much as I could but I'm on my phone. What's a good cleaner for the dash since it has a rubber feel ? I cleaned it today to find that I need to use a cleaner wax and re wax it. After feeling the car after washing it has a rough feel to the paint. I think the dealership didn't detail it right when it was on the show room floor.

Phil,

Thanks for shipping my order so quickly. I was nervous about detailing new paint, so I let the dealer wax the car when I bought it last year. Also didn't sweat the snow removal over the winter because I knew I'd be taking care of it this spring. I guess the day(s) of reckoning came. I think I spent the better part of the weekend in the garage, but the results are great.

I used a porter cable 7424, uber yellow and green pads, Menzerna FG400, Menzerna SF4000, Blackfire Wet Diamond. Washed at the local self-serve car wash, then clay, FG400, then SF4000 followed by 4-10 coats of blackfire (depending on the surface). Seems excessive, but I really don't want to do this again until next spring.

Cell phone pics...

Sealant and wax or the same thing. Have you tried Meguiar's new Ultimate Wax? It's awesome! Just a 1-step wax with polishing oils, blends really well.

Anyway, you want to let wax cure before putting on layers, I'd guess. Like- 24 hours between applications. So rewash and then apply a new coat.

DD do you like the liquid or paste version of Meguiar's Ultimate Wax?
