If you are really, THAT worried about it. Go with the extended warranty. It would probably cost less then switching cars at this point.

to the OP-

no, i am not thinking of trading in. it sounds like you are worried that an issue will surface at some point with your car, but that one has not surfaced yet. if that is the case, why not just wait until your warranty period expires? if something surfaces within the period, have it fixed. if nothing surfaces by then, chances are there are not major issues.

i see...

I see where this person is coming from when you read the issues _some_ folks are having. You get a lot more replies when you go to the extreme. I JUST bought my BRZ last Monday (May 27th) I have no plans to trade in however I do hope buying a late model year 2013 will save me some of the early issues. My car was manufactured in February 2013. Does anyone have any good evidence of manufacturing adjustments being made to mid/late model year BRZ's to correct some of the well known issues?

I dont like to tinker or change from stock (other than tires) so if i have issues I will be hittin up the dealership hard and fast for corrections.

I got the trade in bug while I was home and was shocked at what I got offered.. I have a Limited AT and the most I got was $23,000. So needless to say, I'll be hanging on it for a while.

No matter what car you buy, the possibility of failure is the same.
I don't buy this story. The OP simply has buyer's remorse.
