Bad figment on Borla exhaust diffuser?

I really want the Borla exhaust plus diffuser, as it seems to solve the problem of air getting caught up in the rear bumper. However I found a thread that noted the fitment was terrible:

Anyone else have experience with this?

I know there are not too many people with that part as it is so new. I heard of one guy getting a banged up/scratched one and Borla replaced it right away. Haven't heard of any poor fitment issues until now. Maybe Alvin from Borla will chime in.

Yes I've seen a used one for sale in Ebay and it was all cut up from fitment issues. I looked and I can't find the listing so either it sold it they took it down and someone else said they were going to throw it in the trash because they were do frustrated with it. I have no personal experience with it but it could have been other aftermarket parts conflicting with the fitment.

In Borla's defense, I have their catback and overpipe on my car and it fits and sounds amazing. I've also had borla catback's on my last two cars (scion tC and ford probe GT), and have never had a problem.

Its sad to see them not taking the time to make things right before they send them to customers.

When was the last time you checked your borla cat back for rust? Cuz if it has anything in common with the borla UEL I own, you might want to check now... 2k miles and the UEL is rusted.

I think it may just be those headers. From rust to bad flanges, maybe they just had an issue with them. Last i heard, they were halting production of the headers until they could find a fix. Hopefully they've got it sorted by now.

Yeah, i love the sound of UEL borla, but the quality issues worry me. Not to mention they don't offer a cat'd version which is what i'll be looking for when i go for headers.

That collector looks awful.... I can't imagine how they let that thing out the door.

JDL looks flawless. Hope you are happy with it.

That's not a quality issue on the borla, that's how the collector is intended to look from them.
