Has my rad already shipped? Too late to add the hoses?
damn I thought rad issues were only with Vortech not AVO... Hmm might have to go with a different kit or give up A/C

I wonder how much more effective the cusco water oil cooler would be with this radiator. Any insight?

Won't be bolted to my car yet on Friday, but I have your TPMS mounted up in my old wheels and ready to go.

That is the direction I am probably moving to. I want a water to oil cooler, not one in front of the IC.

The thermostat on the cusco unit is set really high.... 265F if I recall. I don't think many here have seen anything near that. Even the FI guys rarely get that high. Makes that unit not so worth while IMHO. I do think this radiator would pair well with a similar style heat exchanger and a lower temp t-stat.

Was discussed in the thread. The answer is no. They will be selling a seperate oil cooler that mounts in the passenger front fender well in a couple weeks.

Radiator touch & feel @ King Tut's BRZ Garage
Got to see & touch the freshly delivered unit. Way impressed with The quality of the welds and the materials. This thing will blow away in a light breeze - defines light weight! A lot of thought went into this design. Definitely on my list to purchase.
Web surfing the other night and came across an Oem oil/water cooler Subaru mounted on 08-11 WRX & Sti EJ257 & EJ255. Mounts between block and oil filter. Haven't had a chance to find the dimensions of the adapter threads. If they match FA20 threads then this might be an alternative. The EJ filter mounts on the bottom of the engine. this cooler would mount on the FA20's top without the need for a spacer. Any thoughts? FA20 uses 20mm x 1.5mm threads on oil filter

I just don't like the idea of using hot coolant to cool hot oil. I am buying the Full Blown oil cooler this week.
I installed the radiator this week. I can tell you that this job is not a simple job. It took me about 6 hours to install it. Getting the OEM radiator out is not easy as there is barely enough width to get it out. Leaving the drain plug out helps and you kind of have to watch the A/C lines on the driver side so the radiator doesn't get hung up on them. The Full Blown unit bolted in place perfectly and the Perrin hoses fit it perfectly. The A/C condensor easily bolted in place on the front. I have the dual 16" slim electric fans, so I can't comment on the OEM fan fitment. I will say that I can now see why this radiator might not work on other forced induction kits that utilize a wider intercooler than the Full Blown unit. As mentioned the connections for the A/C lines on the driver side of the A/C condensor are moved forward the extra width of the radiator. The Full Blown intercooler is not wide enough to make contact in that area. I filled it up and bled the system with no leaks. Hopefully (well not really) I will hit some bad traffic on the way home this week to see if my temps still start rising.

I have the full blown radiator in possession, it's a pretty black and purple box, we'll see if its an easy fit on the 10th, I'll do a write up on vortech fitment.
