Ah, yea. Sux man. The capacitive one is a bit better.

For your reference later, the capacitive model number is TUN21A or T7019A (for 200mm toyota fit)

i just want the ability to make self installed apps become the default ones used for things (poweramp for music player and so on)

But the current radio and phone dialer apps are pretty terrible. Why couldnt they just use a typical android phone dialer style?

The radio app does what it needs to do. But I agree that they are kinda dumb. I think you could if you pulled apart the system image and renamed the apk of the music player you want to stock one to overwrite it.

Has anyone tried putting Android 4.x on this thing? I am tempted to do it in next few days, supposedly it works faster than 2.3.x OS (not to mention that a lot of new apps don't work in 2.3)

Did anyone find a decent replacement for stock "Phone" application? Syncing with my iPhone's phonebook takes WAY too long, not to mention finding a contact in list of 300+ by scrolling (instead of typing a few initial letters of that contact's name). Also the CallerID works only for primary phone of one contact's phone numbers (if you have Mobile/Home/Fax for one person it won't work).

A good thing is that you can mount external drives - I've just plugged in a (regular) SD card reader into USB hub and mounted it using BusyBox. I am guessing a similar thing can work with any USB stick (or even multiple USB sticks). However, I still didn't try to make it install all new apps on the mounted SD card.

One more thing that would be useful is to enable receiving of SMSs thru bluetooth, not sure if there is an app for this or one would have to be written from scratch.

Aerial issues.

I know some of you have had an issue and it was solved by wiring up the blue wire from the antenna adapter to power.

I have done this and tested the power and it is definitely there but signal is almost non-existent on FM and AM. I've even taken my shark fin off and put a "normal" aerial back on.

Any ideas other than power as to what might be wrong as have power ok?

.

I wired it up using the red spare cable instead. Works perfectly

Does the T7019A use GPS and the VSS signal to disable input or video while moving? If so, is there an easy hack around it?

Ground the parking brake lead. Doesn't use GPS to sense movement.
