yeh, mine does the same, i think it may be caused by the play allowed by the incorrect fastener there (part #4, goes through the hole in bracket #3)

The part # for that fastener is 909130132 if anyone wants to try before mine arrives.

Yeah, that's not it,

I have the factory pieces there, properly installed I feel as if the back of the bumper where it engages the clips maybe rounded or the plastic clip is rounded or deformed from coming off and on several times...

I'll be testing the clips as well.

On the WRX the rear part of the front bumper clips to the fender. The fender is cheap stamped steal and the tab sags and bends over time. On every WRX. I sure hope the BRZ isn't the same.

Had this same problem. I scratched my head for at least an hour taking the bumper on and off trying to figure it out. Eventually one of the guys here said it felt like something was pushing the bumper down as we could push it in a bit and it would kinda "pop" back out. We tracked it down to the front lower air dam(hard plastic piece under the bumper/radiator) and the bottom of the bumper lip/tabs, we messed with it for a bit until everything lined up perfectly, and voila no more gaps!

Please note we are using the APR Carbon front lip, so we thought that may have been contributing to the problem with getting everything lined up as we had no flex in the bottom of the bumper, but hopefully this may help some of you, or at least give you an idea on where to look.

Thanks!
Rick

Edit, I stole this picture from @DC-FRS, hope he does not mind

The large plastic air dam(#22 in pic) was not sitting right with the lower portion of the bumper and was sort of forcing the bumper down a bit. I had to push, pull, prod, poke, talk nice to, and yell at it until it was all lined up perfectly.

Don't mind at all, bro! If you guys need part numbers for any OEM parts, let me know. I'm an estimator at a body shop and have access to the database and all of these diagrams.

I don't care what they say about Utah, if this works you guys are alright with me! As soon as my replacement fasteners comes in I'm going to give it a try (don't want to risk it with the fragile replacement fasteners i'm using now.) Maybe today with any luck, probably not until Monday though.

Also you can get most of those part #'s from this site:

http://www.buysubarupartsnow.com/par...and-components

They have a pretty extensive catalog of both body and mechanical parts.

I had the same issue on my FRS. Took it to the service department a while ago, they had their body shop try fixing the issue, but the guys at the body shop said the entire bumper needed to be replaced. They said there might be something wrong with the way it was molded or something like that, so my front bumper's being replaced under warranty. It's currently at the shop, but I'll let you guys know how it appears once I get the car back.

(someone rear-ended me and pushed me into a back of a Jeep ) Mines poppin out so badly my side marker is sticking out of the cut out for it on the fender like a sore thumb. I'm going to have it checked out when i take my car in for its 15 k miles service at the dealership

When you put bumper on you have to work from the center out and kind of flex it in place and you will have no issues getting it put back on. If I had to take the bumper back off I would make a video for it. Stock bumper on stock clips and has been off 4 times. No fitment issues at all.

When you are working your way from the center out, are you putting any fasteners in before you've got it all clipped in? or put the fasteners in as you work your way out?
