It's not really an area where people pay much attention to cars. Around here only Republicans drive Mustangs. Kids drive Integra's, older Civics and Accords. Quite a few older WRX's, some GTI's, BMW's threes are very common, as are 911's.

Houston is home of the swangas and the most gangsta ass donks! Personally for me high luxury and the exotics in houston seem to be the neatest. The wide array what is perceived cool in Houston kind of depends on the demographic really. We have slabs, lifted trucks, Lambos, your jap imports, you name it.

Right. Don't forget the jacked up trucks/jeeps

Austin people feel free to chime in but other than the obvious pickup truck, I see a lot of stangs and maros.

...and I've been seeing a ton of those damn FIATS

The area I live in doesn't seem to have much of a car scene, at least not one that I've noticed. I very rarely see modified cars but when I do it's usually a decently done Subaru. Don't see too much rice either, though when I do it's usually a Honda. I guess the most common one I see as far as 'what's cool to drive' goes is the VW Golf. I see them everywhere.

Other than that it's a bunch of econoboxes and minivans.

Lifted full-size trucks, typically driven by male products of inbreeding.

Donks with "elbows". I see ricers every once in a while, but way more hoopties on elbows or 2X" wheels.

The most common modded cars around here are WRX and STI. All the kids seem to have them.

The rednecks around here have big lifted trucks with stacks/modified exhausts that they drive like they're in a semi. Double clutching, pouring obscene amounts of black smoke out, etc. There are also a lot of STIs and EVOs. Many of the rich foreign kids drive M3s, mercedes AMG's, one kid has a lambo, a bunch of new camaros and mustangs. I like my FR-S the best

On the road? Beige, volkswagen, toyota, honda, hyundai, ford, chevy, chrysler, mercedes, audi, bmw, whatever flavor of beige suits your need you'll see five of them on your commute!

People who have cars worth mentioning?
Integras & Mustangs

Maybe 1 or 2 cool VW's, Honda's, Mercedes' or Volvo's for every five Mustang/Integra's, and maybe 1:500 truly unique (like the red 356 convertible I saw last night )

Also see at lest 2 Tesla's a day.

Don't forget black Escalades and Yukons. People in DC metro tend to buy cars that resemble secret service. One of households in a nearby neighborhood owns 3 black Yukons (yes, THREE black Yukons) and that place always looks like it's being seized by FBI or something.
