What is causing this sound?
I had some suspension parts replaced in the rear on the passenger side. Now, every time i pull into a driveway or over a bump, i get a creek from the back right corner of the car as that tire goes over the bump. It only happens when just that tire is the part going over the bump. if i drive straight over speed bumps and into driveways, there is no sound at all. This leads me to believe in might be something to do with the sway bar connections on the right side..? Anyways, i didnt want to have to get under there with a torque wrench on every bolt i see, so i was hoping someone with more suspension knowledge could point me in the right direction...

Because you touch yourself at night.

What parts were replaced? Sounds like a creaking bushing that needs grease.

Basically the entire rear/right suspension. upper and lower control arms, control arm, hub assembly, e-brake assembly, tie rod, trailing arm, knuckle. the strut assembly was ok, but that whole back corner was taken apart to check for damage.

![]() Seriously though, can you recreate this sound by loading either rear corner of the car? If you can, then a helper could bounce on the car while you try to pinpoint the source of the noise and save yourself some time. Either way, I think checking all the roll bar connections first is prudent. |

what ever could you mean?..
i tried rocking the car and bouncing that corner, but it doesnt cause the sound. I think it has to be a more sudden or harder occurrence :-/ I am thinking it has to do with the sway bar since it only happens when only the right side is compressed. if both back tires go over a bump at the same time, there is no noise. I'm going to try some spray lube on the sway bar bushings and see if that silences it. If it does, then i'll take it apart and grease it up. |
