Would aftermarket cosmetic body trim exclude me from STX?

I have a front lip, side skirts, rear spats, and a rear valance.. all cosmetics.. nothing designed to induce any change in handling, etc..

I'm not interested in hardcore competition.. not enough to remove those parts every weekend or anything.. but it would suck to get put in modified or something just because of some cosmetic appearance stuff..

thoughts?

Unless your racing nationally, I wouldn't worry about it. locally, not many people are going to care if any..

Strickly speaking, yes. Aerodynamic modifications aren't allowed in STX.

But: in reality it depends on how good you are, your competition, and the level at which your competing. If you're winning your class and your classmates are pissed about it and you're at a pro-Solo or similar, then you're going to get protested.

At smaller, low key events no one cares, especially if you aren't leading the pack.

I have 17x9et35. I needed the 35 offset as I am on stock struts/RCE Springs/Whiteline camber bolts and COMCs. I (and EN2) know someone who has the 17x9et45s on stock struts with no other suspension mods and he is BARELY clearing.

Careful! Magic eraser will also magically erase your clearcoat. Don't use it it's very abrasive.

Question: i have an frs with a trd intake (full intake, not filter) and a grimmspeed brake brace. If I keep the tires narrow (7.5") can I get into st or Sts? The Sts competition is brutal around here and I don't really wanna finish DFL for my first couple of seasons while I learn.

Unfortunately the Brake brace isn't legal. The Class you will go to will be STX with the intake.. and your allowed a 17x9 and up to a 265 tire. ..my suggestion is run stock to learn the car then make a educated decision on where you want to go with the car..

Check with local STX competitors first but if you tell them about the brace, and you being a new driver, they likely won't have an issue with you running STX. Same doesn't hold true if you go to a national level event though

Eh, not really... Maybe if you win the national championship, but it's been awhile since I've seen someone really look under the hood of someone else's car. I would be incredibly surprised if you got protested for it unless you were just killing everyone. IE, although it makes no difference, Pallotta would have paper thrown at him in a heartbeat for it. Me, probably not.

I know that's the case in reality but I didn't want to give the idea that rule bending will be okay on the bigger level. You can do it and likely get away with it but it's not the best method.

I was more focused on the fact that locally that no one will likely say anything. If someone gets beat by a newish person and blames a minor brace like that, I'd laugh til I pissed myself.
