That depends on a whoooole lot of stuff...
-what shocks/springs
-camber
-alignment
-swaybars
-tires

Whats good for some isn't necessarily good for someone else. generic, get me in the ball park we can probably do.. but everyone has a different feel.
As a rule of thumb..
*More rebound than compression/Bump
*More rebound in front than the rear depending on Spring rate
*don't usually need a whole lot of compression/bump..as you want the stroke more smooth.. more compression...less smooth..
Rebound is how it takes a jolt, compression is how fast you want your want the shock to react and put pressure back down to the ground.

To much compression/bump can make the car ill handling.
To much Rebound can make the car bouncy.

Just to make sure, changing to a lightweight battery is considered illegal for STX, correct? That would bump us up to Prepared class?

My first SCCA autox is tomorrow in Darlington. I was asking a guy on the phone what class I should be in. He said his frs is stock and he is in the stock class, not stx. I said well I have headerback exhaust, intake, springs and big tires. He said I will be in STX. However I didn't tell him what size. I have a 9.5" wide rear wheel and 275 tires on there. According to the rules i am not legal for stx. Would I be in STU? I assume the "U" is for unlimited.

your first one??? Most likely you should go to Steet Mod.. SM.. just because your not legal for STX because of the size tire and wheel width on the rear.... being it your first time.. its not going to matter much anyways.. your main job for the first time. is to learn the car.. your not going to set any major speed records.. so really its doesn't matter what class they put you in.. Learn the car and have fun.. thats what its about at first.. Your going to wanna be fast.. but realistically.. its take a couple of years to get there.. .. You will probably have a hard time just remembering where to go.. much less doing it quickly.. Have fun...and learn..

YW... somethings to expect from your setup...
-with the staggered setup in wheels/tires you have.. you can expect the car not to turn like you want it to.. it will have a push/tight condition that will make the car hard to turn..
-You can also expect a small amount of front tire wear from trying to get it turn and relatively no front camber..

to help that situation... you will want to increase the rear tire pressure to where its above the front.. *make sure you have a tire gauge..

more pressure in the rear..the looser the car becomes.. or at least in theory...

Have fun..

^ actually I'm really interested in how it goes for him. A staggered setup may help the snap oversteer we get and may allow him to stay in the gas longer.

Well I won my class by 1.5 seconds. I did not touch the tire preassure. The car was super balanced and composed. Back end felt great and would only start to slip over a couple fast speed bumps. However the front pushes really bad in the 180* turn which was to be expected. But I'm very happy and can't wait for the fun runs!
