I have taken friends out in it twice but for some reason there are not very many takers for a trip somewhere pretty. Working in mental heath has taught me that I've got a lot of anxiety problems. Anyone had this issue and gotten over it? (I've obviously got to just suck it up and go for a ride but it messes me up so much to think about it that I feel unsafe behind the wheel.)

All in all I still love the car and know that someday I'll find some way to enjoy it the way those above have =)

**Now that I think about it: every time I get in before work I'm calm and collected, ready to take the day. Every time I get in after work the mindfunk of the day just slips away. I guess even a 5-mile commute has the ability to make a difference.**
I felt anxious when I first got it too. Mainly because I didn't want something to happen to a car I oogle over and actually own (as in someone who's not paying attention accidentally hitting my car).

But take it out and take notice to the smile that it puts on your face and the anxiety ends up going away

That's one of the reasons I am reluctant to sell my RSX-S. That car gets 2/3rds of my drive time so I am always yearning for the FR-S trips, regardless of distance.

Almost 3 months in and the honeymoon effect is still strong.

What the hell are you guys paying for gas out there in Alberta?? Thought there was oodles of gas and money floating around...

Paying $1.45/L ($5.50/gallon) for shell v-power here in Sudbury, which is still silly, but sounds like you guys have it pretty rough out there.

Anyhow this is the first car I've owned that I take out for joy rides, despite the large amount of gas I seem to burn through. I guess more than anything Im eagerly trying to break this thing in (still only a little over two weeks into ownership), so Im still easily going for at least one pleasure cruise a day at this point.

Yea its around that and more. Yea there is tons of Oil and Gas here, I work in the industry and it is sad there is no in house discount when the mass majority of NA gasoline is in fact refined and distributed only hours away from me, sucks.

Yeah, the drive home from work is about 110 miles....somehow i forget about the shortcut that makes it 5 miles. It started as a way to rack up miles to breeze through the break-in period, but has just continued. As someone else mentioned, I know the back roads here better in the last 6 months than I ever did in the last 6 years.

I do it all the time, from 2 hour quick ones to 6-8 hour all day drives. I've taken long trips down south just to drive the good roads of VA, WV, TN, NC & GA and I've also planned and lead about 5000 miles of group drives and 5 day road trips for TT owners.

Pics from some of my trips:

Here's an article on the last week long TT road trip:

lol. I knew I wasn't the only 'nutball' on here doing the same thing. I drive endless, and I love living in CA to do it. Only place I know where you can go from 0 elevation to about 5000ft+ in less than 2hrs... nice to have the mountains oh so close...

I live in an area where there's usually too much traffic too, but Sat and Sun mornings I like to get up earlier and just drive around the Palos Verdes peninsula. Some people golf, I think I'd rather go drive my FR-S.

Not the best driving roads in idaho....the ones that are decent have sand on them 11 months out of the year because 9 of those months get snow.

I do tend to drive it a lot though.

I've always driven when I was bored, think it is a freedom thing. better in a fun car though.
