Florida has self defense laws that state if someone legitimately threatens you then you have a right to use lethal force. I'm not saying someone should shoot the construction worker but if he threatened my car he'd probably get the shit beaten out of him. The car revving did not injure him in anyway, fucking redneck would have given a muscle car a free pass.

I get them hater stories for getting AT over MT. Sorry, I'm only 20, learned how to drive in an AT, all work vehicles are AT. Literally never drove a MT car in my life, so I am not going to buy a car without knowing howto drive it, and don't want to mess it up. Granted, I do regret not getting a MT, I always drive in the MAT mode...

To be honest MT is oldschool and classic, the MAT is the newer technology. All F1 cars are MAT for a reason, because u shift faster with it, and because u dont risk burning the clutch, and that together with rev match are even better.

Next time whoever told u that you should get an MT, tell them to learn new Technology, because human being progress ahead not backward

Learning to drive a MT car is not hard. Plenty of people (including myself) have purchased MT cars without knowing how to drive them. It's something you can learn the basics of in a parking lot in a few hours and get better at over time.

You're not going to cause too much damage to the clutch (or engine) of a new car these days by stalling a few times or slipping the clutch. Just sayin'.

F1 uses dual clutch gearbox, the FRS has a regular automatic. Huge difference. The shifts in the automatic are not as fast as the shifts in the manual and if you know how to drive you won't burn your clutch.

F1 is single clutch sequential, as is all other race cars these days (dual clutch is unnecessarily complicated and has weight penalty).

but you're right about the FRS' slushbox; just a torque converter that can be manually shifted.

Had they offered a twin clutch "auto", i would have gotten that over the manual.

Unfortunately the twins seems to be a magnet for haters who have watch too many fast and furious movies. The general attitude around here seems to be "Yes I know my car is slow, don't care, not interested in racing your civic/mustang" which i find very refreshing. I will admit that I'm not a fan of the lack of torque and lower quality interior materials for a $25,000 car; but I don't feel the need to talk shit to the people who bought them. I get and respect that the twins are not about how fast it goes, but rather how it goes fast. And just like you guys know that most sports cars should beat you in a strait line; I'm fully aware that on a track your cars should be faster and much more enjoyable than my GTI. So when the ricers fly by you on the highway just remember that Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369674451.934051.jpg

it does need 20hp or so but then again i'm at 4500 ft so i'm 10-15 down to start.

driving around the local mall (pretty small and no one goes in) to get panda express and some kids in a 90's lexus LS400 rev their engine to redline at me. not sure why, maybe jealous their moving couch doesn't go very fast, idk.

Generally i get positive comments about the way it looks or questions of how fast it is. Blew some kids mind at the gas station when i told them it's more fun than my wrx was lol.

I don't like to use the term "hater" really but more accurately "misinformed". One of my friends always states that the FRS/BRZ is a "shitty car" but never really gives any valid points as to why. While I would like to call him a hater but it would sound just as ignorant as his statements. Granted he does drive a 2009 auto base model 370z that he paid 35k for, his opinion doesn't really matter to me as he obviously only "likes" cars instead of acutally being an enthusiast. If that makes any sense. My friends have also stated to me before that the FRS is over hyped and such but if you look there are so many companies now using it as a bench mark to what they are going to produce next. I always hear "there is not thing special about that car". Well I'd have to argue that's what makes it a special car in todays market. It's just a basic car almost like the miata which is another great example of not needing gobs of HP and super electronics to make it a decent car. I personally am enjoying the car and i'm sure others will also if they just took a step back and looked at it from a different perspective.
