What can the S4 do that the iPhone can't?

* SD Card wouldn't trust an sd card with important information, plus how much stuff do you need on your phone?? But I can see where for some this is useful, but for me its pointless and one more potential point of failure
* Batteryeh depending on the rom , but will give samsung credit they seem to be the only android manufacturer to either match or beat apple with battery life
* Actual HD. LOL while the iphones 720p is technically real hd , I see where you are coming from , but don't see the point of 1080p on a small display unless you for whatever reason can't watch episodes or clips on a computer?!?
* Quickly turn wifi on and off without going through 4 menus. very true
* Dedicated back button, rather than leaving it up to the developer. not a huge issue on ios(at least for what I use my phone for)
* Much superior notificationsreally beg to differ , this is a different strokes different folks kinda thing
* Google Now something awesome that makes android shine
* Set default apps to perform functions. eh apple stock apps are fine , so no real need to have different apps for sms, music , etc...
* Navigate, correctly. google maps is available for ios
* Faster CPU - doesn't mean anything unless the os driver is optimized for it
* Customizationcan be okay but the iphone makes me follow the KISS principle where alot of android users I know go overboard with it or the hacks for bootscreens , etc just don't work
* Widgetspointless to some such as myself
* Lockscreen widgetspointless to some such as myself
* Real multitasking - define real multitasking???
* Doesn't need iTunes to update. iphone doesn't need an itunes you can update the phone ova or using wifi...
* A real file systempretty sure the iphone file system isn't fake
* Much easier to add/remove/share music. itunes is nice when it comes to organizing playlist and music, etc but I can defiantly see where it can be a hassle if you want to dump a file and go
this is just my opinion, I'm a current iphone user and have debated going back to android but at the end of the day it doesn't seem worth it.
for me

phone = ios
tablet = android

I have a One. I'm hoping they allow us to destroy Blinkfeed in the next update.

Also they need some firmware updates for the back/home buttons that are unresponsive sometimes. Same with the Camera, doesn't focus very well, seems software-y.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING USED PHONES PEOPLE.

Get a receipt. Particularly in the US, phone companies are cracking down on "Lost/Stolen" phones. I work for T-Mobile and I get 7-10 customers a week that come in with a phone from a pawn shop/off craigslist that's bricked (will never connect to a network again, but still looks like it works).

The iPhone 5 is under 720p. It doesn't have a file system. You can't store files into folders on the device, navigate to them, and open them up. You're stuck to the access channels that Apple provides. Yes, it does have google maps, but no, you can't set a link click to open up google maps for navigation... It always opens apple maps. I should have clarified what I meant prior .

Have you ever considered Espier Launcher for android? It essentially gives you the same exact interface of iOS, but on Android. I only mention this because you say you sway back and forth.

Depends if you're willing to jailbreak an iPhone.

If you are, then the things you can do with it increase greatly.

Enlighten us Because I thought jailbreaking still wouldn't allow you to load a different OS (which is the only thing holding the iPhone back).

Funny how people say gimmick .... There's a option to turn them off you don't have to use them.. If your not building something new then your not evolving .... We need to build thing that are not built yet... Watch the next iPhone will have something that android had for years

Apple now is like a cute fisher price toy compare to android.. I have both and iOS needs a major update..

I like how I can download files or play all video format on my android devices .. Plus I just plug my android phone to a monitor and I have a like PC desktop / laptop ..

Well I'm sure replacing the software is out of the scope of what the majority of individuals want to achieve with their phones. And I haven't used an Android phone since 4.1, but I haven't missed a feature from Android since I switched to iOS.

That said, I do enjoy both.

I honestly quit keeping tabs on most of the android stuff since my hp touchpad decided it never wanted to charge again, and in the android world everything moves very fast paced and there is a new amazing *app* for something every week and that ultimately turned me off from using it on my phone. But very valid point on the iphone resolution.

The two things that ios has that android still and maybe never will have due to its open nature is:
hardware support (radios, accessories , etc)
consistency across it's line of hardware

But like I said before that's just my opinion and so far ios is what suits me best. I have nothing terrible to say about android and in fact encourage it's development and use because the competition forces innovation, I support open source efforts, and will be learning how to develop for the platform it's summer (screw you apple and your osx only ios dev environment lol)

And to the op , play with the devices in question and write down what Your needs are for day to day use in a phone and go from there!

Oh, I'll have to disagree. Hardware wise, the S4 was outclassed when it came out. Its only advantages were its software, and the google edition removes those.....

Better off waiting for a Nexus 5.
