Might as well skip a weekly run to Starbucks and you've made up the cost.

if you can't afford the gas, you can't afford your car.

Alabama doesn't care about the environment. 93 octane and some stations with no ethanol.

That's what my Evo currently drinks so this won't be a problem. Glad I could actually find this topic though so I didn't have to create one!

Unless the ECU advances timing until pinging occurs than 91 will work best as the car is tuned for 91. If it's retuned for more, then run more. Or if the ECU is smart and advances until ping then run more, but otherwise you won't see any benefits.

Exactly. No sense in running higher octane if ECU is not tuned for it.

20 cents more a gallon for premium is hardly anything. Think about it; lets just say that you average 25 mpg in your FRS/BRZ. If you drive 25,000 miles a year (easy math) then thats 1,000 gallons of gas a year.

That means you are only spending $200 a year for the premium fuel when compared to if the car had run on regular. Thats hardly anything; its $3.84 a week.

I don't understand why people get so weird about money when it comes to gas. Paying 20 cents more per gallon to get more effeciency out of an engine seems unreasonable to people. People will drive out of their way to get to the cheapest gas station if it will save them 3 cents a gallon on gas. Its madness.

I don't want to see how many duplicates of this topic we have.

AKI is US octane so this comes up a lot.

Interesting fact, Iowa (think corn state), also offers Ethanol free Gasoline next to 10% Ethanol infused Gasoline and many times E85.

I might be cheap about many things but fuel is not something I like to cheap out on. New Engines aren't cheap and they run better with the best minimum octane anyway.
