It was a nice job. I just can't help but wonder what the deal is with this engine that it has that drop around 3500. Smoothing out the bottom half of that chart would probably yield noticeable driveability improvements.

A good set of headers combined wit a tune will flatten it out.

Thanks! Having dyno tuned at least a dozen FRSs and BRZs in various forms now, I can say no two 100% stock OEM setups use the same calibration and maps. Not knocking anyone here, but this is why I'm hesitant to do E-Tunes and why it's not quite a one size fits all and why we are all about in-house dyno tuning. But I digress...

Correct on both counts. I'll be posting a review of the Borla UEL that we tuned later today, it works well with results that most would be happy with.

Regards!

Interesting. How similar are the post-tune calibrations and maps of similarly equipped cars? Is the post-tune variance as wide as stock?

Take my car and this one for example. Both 100% OEM stock. In certain ranges, my FRS took almost 4 degrees more of timing up top and this one about 2 more in certain ranges. Only one other FRS prior that came this way was pretty similar to mine in that regard, and for the most part I'll still have to check for compliance...

This is one of the reasons why I can't justify an E-Tune...

Regards!

I have two theories. But that's for another day, and another thread.

Cheers!

Out with it, man! Unless it's a trade secret in your tuning.
