I think some of us are eagerly putting on the kms so we can have an excuse to put a turbo/supercharger on. I'm at 20K already, surely Roddy and Paul are up there too.
I asked because I was curious as to what it would cost to replace it. Once I add boost it will be me flipping the bill if it blows up! Lol

Do this now then - why waste the stock motor by blowing it up (since everyone seems to figure this will happen under t-boost anyway). You can store the stocker and be able to replace it to sell the car one day and sell the Crawford for some residual bucks later.

I'm thinking maybe a s/c for mine once the warranty is up.

I'm about to turn 26,000 on mine. I'm hoping someone will bring a positive displacement supercharger kit to market. I have an Eaton on the Mustang and love it. I've been waiting to see what happens with the Sprintex/Bullit/Innovate kit, but would really like to see a North American sourced TVS based kit.

Weather permitting, I really want to make this one. The last time I was up to the lookout was on a streetbike. To make it that far in, I'll have to leave by 05:30 or so. Early is good...less bicyclists to deal with in the park. Hopefully I'll have another FR-S tagging along.

So Andre & group,
I've pretty much exclusively put in Shell V-Power 91 (and the 2 times I didn't, I hunted for a pump that had ethanol free 91/93) and I get crickets like crazy.

Some basic history: Received the car Mar 18, less than 5000 kms on it to date, took it easy during the first 1000-1500 km (ie. less that 3.5k RPM shifts)

Drives me nuts, and ever since I pointed it out to the GF, she points it out too...

Only happens after about 10 mins of driving, so after the car's good and warm.
I saw the TSB for the fuel pump issue, but my VIN is far above the range called out in the bulletin, so I thought I was just hearing things or being overly sensitive -- but there's definitely a sustained chirping noise as the engine idles, heard from the outside of the car or while at a stop with the windows down and something close by for the sound to bounce off of.

I can't wait to meet up with some of you all, to hear how your twins are running and to have some of the more experienced guys perhaps confirm my suspicions.

Either way, I was thinking I'd bring it up at first service regardless.

Oh, also, I plan on being a part of the cruise on the 8th!

Chirping

Have never heard the chirping Pat. Use shell 91 and Ultramar 91. Glad you can make the 8th.

Yeah, its strange. I try to use Shell91 exclusively.
I think someone at the April meet was asking me if I had crickets and I mentioned that I never heard them, and then the week after I filled up using Esso or Petro and right away I could hear it. Next tank back to Shell and it went away.
For me, it's clearly related to fuel, but for others it is not.

I'll be running Petro94 on Friday for the track day, but I won't be worrying about crickets!

Hope you figure it out Pat!
