Sorry, I don't know as my state doesn't require it. I thought I read somewhere that you just need to request it and they will provide, nobody mentioned any extra cost.

Per the install instructions:
Emissions Compliance Information:

A new process has been implemented. The

Emissions Label is No Longer included in the

Performance Air Intake Kit.

If your state requires an Emissions

Compliance Label, one may be ordered

through your Scion dealer or the Toyota

Materials Distribution Center (MDC)

310-468-9800 or
MDC@toyota.com

This TRD Performance Air Intake Kit has

received 50-State Emissions Compliance via the

California Air Resources Board (CARB). Not all

states require the Emissions Compliance Label

but TRD does recommend ordering one. To

receive the proper Emissions Compliance Label

for this TRD Performance Air Intake Kit, please

order MDC part number
00602-21140. Proof of

ownership may be required.

Actually, I am asking how much I need to pay when I orderthrough the local dealer?

I am trying to find the lowest price on EBay. Some vender providethis service and some this not.
I need to consider this price, in order to know which thebest price is.

Thanks.

Since I've slowed down on my modding, I've been collecting this junk lol. The mechs are from a Japanese arcade/anime called Gyrozetter - Orange=transformed form of an 86, Blue=transformed form of a BRZ, red=Raibird (fictional supercar, main character). Also got some Hachirokus, 2000GT, and an "infamous" Supra by Hot Wheels.

Very recently, I've found new ways to blow some money. Got Weathertech mats to make cleaning easy and this:

It's lighter (I estimate 25% to 33%) than the stock wheel. The girth is about the same as the two lumps on the stock wheel's 2 and 9 o'clocks but uniform throughout. I like the form of it over having 2 lumps but that introduces an ergonomics issue. When I drive for an extended period with my hand not turning the wheel (like on a highway), I tend to pistol grip the wheel. My hand started to cramp because of this wheel's thickness. But it is 5mm smaller in circumference than stock (360mm v. 365mm). That difference wasn't too noticeable when I first put my hands on it. But when I started driving, steering felt a touch more nimble and direct. Very subtle. I paid $500 for this (+100 shipping from Japanparts). Without the branding, I feel something like this would be more worth $300-$400.

Tom's tail lights due out in July are up next. Then I should be done for awhile.

Tom's taillights are the ones I want as well. Impeccable taste! Keep up the good work.

Did you get better mileage (or worse) after installing TRD intake?

Thanks.

I don't pay close attention to my mileage so I wouldn't know. If anything, it might be worse but more due to my driving habits... I press the gas a bit more spiritedly because I like the sensation of extra punch from the throttle. I thought I read in the engine mods section that it preserves the stock a/f ratio and doesn't run lean (that's also why people said it won't benefit much from a tune). If it provides more air, then it must burn more fuel to maintain the same a/f ratio. That extra kick on throttle input is the result.

Sorry for bother you this question again.
Did you still recommend the TRD intake, if stock a/f ratio doesn't run lean?
I did interested to remove the sound tube.
However, I am not sure that just simply buy the Silicone Intake Pipe as below.

http://www.perrinperformance.com/brz...brz-inlet-hose

or TRD intake.

What’s your suggestion and opinion?
Thanks a lot.

Yes, I highly recommend the TRD intake if it keeps a/f ratio the way the factory intended because that indicates normal operation whereas running lean is abnormal.

I haven't researched those other intake pipes enough to give you an informed opinion on how they compare. My initial opinion is they may improve airflow but the amount of air provided thru them may not be as much as the TRD intake. One advantage is the TRD is warrantied for Scion whereas those other intakes aren't. Not to say the TRD intake will be bulletproof but it must have gone through some sort of rigorous development testing to qualify for an OEM warranty even though it doesn't apply to me (Subaru).

HI,

Do you know, normally (or from the history) will Subaru (orSTI) release the upgrade intake for their stock car?
Thanks again.

I don't think Subaru ever has and from STI's website, it looks like most of their other cars only have an air filter upgrade: http://www.sti.jp/parts/catalogue/index.html

Yep, they've never released an intake. The OEM intakes for the WRX/STi are designed to support up to 350 wheel hp and will only become a bottleneck at that type of wheel power.

The closest USDM thing that I've ever seen is the SPT Intake that looks a lot like a rebadged K&N Typhoon.

The closest JDM/EDM thing that I've ever seen is the Prodrive Intake that was a rebadged AEM Intake.

Both were released for the turbo'd Suby's.
