Looks like a really fast course! I am looking forward to coming up there and getting into the scca events. I will need help classing my car once I do a few more mods.

Nice run!

I ended up with a 54.5 and 6th in STX. Car performed awesome! No doubt that in the hands of the right driver it could have easily broke 50. Fastest in STX was an RX-8 with 51.8

Thanks! Yea, you should feel pretty good about that one for sure! Being your first event ever, those 4 RX-8 guys all have been running at a national level for the last few years, Albeit Alan was driving a different car. Those guys will be good benchmarks to track your progress if you become a DRSCCA regular

It wasn't so much fast as much as speed maintenance, I never really got close to the top of 2nd gear. There were no good places to get the hammer down, but nothing that really made you park it unless you made a mistake.

Yeah I noticed a lot of tire noise on the sweeper turns but you're change overs looked really clean. Are you running an aggressive front camber setup? I often find myself out driving my front end. I think it might be from to much input on the wheel but I'm not sure.

I'll be participating in the memorial day event. I can't wait. I'm extremely sunburned from today though.

Signed up to run Grattan Raceway on Sunday the 26th. There are a few spots still open if anyone's interested.

Yea, I was overdriving the entries expecting the tires to bite more than they did, probably left another second or so on course by having to wait for the car to slow and being later than I wanted to be getting back on the throttle.

My face is still tingly from sunburn.. I even put on sunscreen.. spf50 my a$$

I had a great time.. My goal was to improve on each lap and I did that.. 101, 57, 56, 54.9. I was expecting to be one of the slower cars out there.. especially since I knew I was 7th out of 10 in my class. But after seeing the total results.. I was faster than a lot of cars out there. that's cool!

Like Kask was saying.. the car was phenominal and I think a little better driver would have easily taken a few more seconds off the clock and been very competitive in that class. Heck.. with a few more suspension parts ironed out (swaybars, links, bushings) and some power adds (intake, exhaust, headers) i think it would be a very strong contender.

I'll definitely go again this year.. but not every week. It chews up almost an entire day..

Does the Detroit region always give you only 4 runs? In Cleveland they did two sessions.. so you got 8 runs. There they didn't have co-drivers for almost every car. sheesh...

I think the number of runs everyone gets is at least partially dependant on the number of people that are there.

Like Chimpo said, it does depend on number of entrants. Detroit will always try to do a minimum of 4, some of the lighter attended events we've done up to 6 in the past. At National Tour events you only get 3 runs per day.

Oscoda will take up a whole weekend, but you'll get a minimum of 12 runs there for a weekend. The site is great and the trip is a nice little mini vacation mixed with autocross.
