You should definitely put a turbo on it.

Start out with just a southern cross sticker, see how that goes for extra power.

Cause nothing beats a noisy exhaust on P plates for attracting the men with the roof mounted lights.
It has plenty of performance stock, just learn how to drive properly like others have suggested. |

You wont have much room to do P-plate performance mods to the car buddy. Just chuck in a panel filter and enjoy the car for what it is, while you are on your P's, save up for a few mods when you're off.

We were all P platers once. Not all of us are hoons (like myself........ok i'm guilty, I did have a little fun here and there).I'm still on my P's going for my fulls in 2 weeks.
But here's what I have done, just made the car breath a little more and better (i think). - induction kit (intake pipes/tubes, aftermarket drop-in air filter) -exhaust system (cat-back, don't have anything too loud meaning stay within the legal db limit which is 90db) - unless you want the Po Po to light up their disco lights. -street/sport brake pads (next on my list, i do track and use my car as daily, different people different choices) -coilovers (thinking about it) -minor interior add-ons and make overs (floor light illumination, carbon fiber dash and so on..) lastly, enjoy that raw NA power for a while, when you're on your fulls TURBO! xD i will eventually do some sort of force induction, maybe next year, i love NA. One mod you could do with no drama is fitting a quality set of tyres to the 86.

^ This. I would also like to echo the Captain's sentiment and share with you some advice given to me in Adelaide in 1993, by a gentleman about to win his last ever F1 race....
"Andrew, when driving, you want to be like samurai sword. Sword is folded many times to work out impurities. When drive, you need to be like this, then you will cut through corners like me, no?" |

Hard to notice mods like:
Intake Pulley Tune Header (but only with stock exhaust), it will only make the stock exhaust sound a little louder and raspy but hardly noticeable and eliminate the torque dip. Noone will ever know. You can say this is my stock 86
