by now i'm convinced that your ninja skills are real
even though the rooting seems simple enough and is easily undone, i'm a bit wary if not really necessary. I tend to not be lucky with those things

@sav: here's another challenge for you..
the unit is supposed to show a 'goodbye' message on shutdown and go into sleep mode. Mine doesn't do that and from what i've read it could be due to a wiring issue (even though it was installed by smac). It also means it never goes into sleep mode and needs 30 seconds to start up even if i switch the engine off for a few secs (annoying).
I assume you found a solution to this too?

Haha no it REALLY is very easy.

The goodby thing is a wiring issue, you've probably got the red and yellow wires wrong way around.

@Vladror - I had Tobi install mine at SMAC. He did mention something about certain wires being switched around.

I'd have to check, it's probably playing from the SD card.

it does pick up the SD card, but it's such a mission to get that thing out i'd rather not use it if not necessary

Agreed. I haven't found another player that comes close though and I've got a lot of music loaded on the SD so it'll have to do for now.

Best player in my opinion is Car Tunes but it's got a nasty bug when running on the Parrot where it would randomly start playing at full volume!
