I'm out in the Boerne area too and when I'm home I occasionally get the redneck with a remapped diesel wanting to do highway pulls..

In the McQueeney/New Braunfels area I have yet to have anyone want to "race" me usually just someone giving me a thumbs up

Because I rev a bit high to launch at green lights I had a duelly turbo diesel Ford truck take it as a sign he should to race me off the line at a stoplight on Satuirday night. I just shook my head.

It always seems like whenever I want to change lanes during moving traffic (or any traffic in general), no one wants to let me. This never happened to me as much with my old stock Jetta. People were nice enough to let me change lanes etc. However not the case with the BRZ. It seems to happen to me all the time now. I swear I feel people are reluctant to let a sports car go in front of them and decides to speed up and not allow them to pass. Anyone else feel this way?

I know my car is slow but it completely dusted the civic. Of course once I hit 68 and let off to 55 he comes zooming past me..... I just gave him the thumbs down and let him ahead.

He got boilerroomed, and that makes me, VIN DIESEL....
A white civic did this to me the other day right after I had bought new tires. I was going slowly/economically down the highway when one pulls behind me and doesn't pass. I threw on the signals to see what he'd do, and he didn't move so I let off at the next exit, walked it past a cop pulling someone over, and then dropped and floored it around the corner and into the straight. He followed for a minute then went to the side of the road, I thought about stopping to talk but outside the city I didn't feel like stopping.

I'm in a sweet 1999 Mercedes Turbo Diesel right now, and it's got about the same kind of 0-60 that the FR-S/BRZ does so I don't so any kind of drag racing, even though there is a freshly paved 1.5 mile straight outside of town.

Where I DO enjoy having fun is the 6 mile curvy road that is also out of town. Actually had a buddy of mine wreck his MR2 out there. The curvy road can be done in my car at 60 MPH with cruise control so it isn't super technical until you pick it up to the 80-90 mile an hour range.

There is a guy around here with a Porsche Boxster and we do runs down that road all the time. Either me trying to keep up with him, or vice versa. No passing, of course.

Here are the roads.

The last time I checked, every car is capable and every car has their limits but unless you are a Seasoned/professional driver, you will never get to the limitations of either car. I can careless about how capable the Cobalt SS is, all I care about is how capable is the driver behind the wheel. That's actually the handicap to the car.

So let's look at this list right here: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/file...event2_raw.htm

There has to be at least 85% of the cars faster than the FR-S. They have more horsepower and torque. Funny thing is why am I the 25th? Shouldn't my FR-S be last?

Let's look at this list here: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/file...event1_raw.htm

Man I hit top 10, at 8th fastest time of the day.. but my car is not that capable, especially to a Noble m12, you know a 450hp, 2200lb car.

Oh.. it must be the driver that makes the biggest difference unless both drivers are equally skilled.

I hate these arguments over the capabilities of cars when half of you people don't even how to bring out 100% of your vehicle stock wise.

I am still learning my FR-S and I am sure I will get faster but please stop talking about capabilities of cars when professional drivers drive them because you will never drive them as hard as they do.

Thanks!

I got a lot more " come race me bro" moments in my wrx but i get at least as much people commenting on my stock brz as my cleanly modded wrx.

biggest thing in idaho is the bro dawgs in lifted diesel trucks w/ stacks and blowing smoke everywhere.

My only thought is sweet dude your truck is almost as fast as a lightly tuned wrx, want a cookie?

I was overtaken by a GTI, he took a lane on the right that also had bike rider in that lane. I flashed lights at him because he was driving stupidly!

Driving through Atlanta last weekend I had a Hispanic man in an IS300 with a fart cannon swerving in front of me and just driving like a jackass in general. I non-aggressively went around him just to get away from him before he causes an accident. As I pass, I notice he has a passenger in front and FIVE people in the back. Including children sitting on the laps of the back passengers. He takes my manuever as an opprotunity to "show me who is boss" and blows passed me weaving in between traffic. He had to get well over 100mph. It's sad that his ego is more important than the lives of his family.

Sometimes I wish I could magically make my car look like a Buick with people like this around, they just put everyone in danger. However, there are sometimes when playing around on the freeway with no traffic and a fellow car enthusiats is a great time. I've had that happen with a few Genesis Coupes and Porsches. We keep up with each other until one of us comes to our exit, a casual flash of the highbeams and thumbs up as they get on the on-ramp. That's what I enjoy.

People need to realize their limits are nowhere as high as the car's. Its one thing to have fun, but driving recklessly and irresponsibly is far too common.
