What he said.

Make sure it's resonated and catted, and your good. I drive an hour each way round trip to and from work, and It's ok for me. I also hate rasp and drone. I'm going to increase my resonator from a 14" to 18" later this week to clean up what little I have.

What is a good resonator? I've been thinking about switching the one on my N1 catback for something a little longer.

Gmookher bought an 18" vibrant off amazon for $67 and said his exhaust was perfect. I've got my eye on it.

I know @CircuitJerk got great results on adding a second smaller resonator rather than a complete swap.

Hmmm, maybe I can add one to the front pipe instead. I don't mind how the car sounds now, but another resonator shouldn't hurt too much. Just preparing for the header/overpipe swap whenever they arrive.

I'll do another round of audio post resonator swaps that you can hear side by side if you wait on changingyours out. It might be time to retire this thread and start a new one as the headers get sent out... a post your dyno/exhaust config/sound clip thread so we can a compare.

I have no idea what the N1 is like compared to the SRT; if it's anything similar, an additional resonator is going to help for sure.
However, I might suggest taking a 'wait and see' approach before adding a resonator. IMO "catted and resonated and you're fine" certainly didn't apply in my case. Purely subjective.

Now that I had the SRT catback swapped out with the P&L catback I don't think I'm going to add anything for a while. It's a lot quieter without an added resonator. Completely civilized in comparison.
@Hawaiian thinks his needs a little more sound mitigation which I can totally understand. He puts on some miles.
The only difference between ours is my front pipe is catless, and I'm happy as a pig in mud right now

I do plan on doing another video run in the near future...

Yeah, gonna wait it out for sure. I've lived with the N1 since they came out, I'm sure it won't hurt to live with it a little longer. Especially now that I replaced the stock front pipe with the ARK resonated/Helmholtz front pipe. That helped relocate the drone, but I've been brain-dead this whole week with lack of sleep that I cannot tell you where the drone ended up. hee hee

Anyways... awaiting on the P&L header/overpipe..... tick tock tick tock

Myles, how is the cold start volume the first 30 seconds before it kicks down to the normal warm up idle?

I currently have nameless catted helmholtz over / front with namelss 3" dual exit axle back. I'm very happy with the volume level AFTER the initial cold start kickdown... but that first 30 seconds is too loud for me, mainly because the factory cold start sequence is sending half the energy out the exhaust valves to light the cat off....

If you want to know how loud the Header is, just ask Supermassive and Azfa20. They heard my intake more than my exhaust, i now have a 12" vibrant inline with a 18" vibrant on my perrin previously non resonated midpipe

Updates on those details?

Pretty much what I listed, and it keeps more heat in the header allowing for more power.

Gotcha. Thanks. I was hoping for some manufacturer claims of cutting under hood temps by X% or by Y degrees. I think I'll stay uncoated for now until/unless that becomes an issue.

Worst case scenario if temps end up being an issue down the line I'll sent it off to SwainTech for a coating of White Lightning.

Can't wait!
