Bump... so where did you get it fitted? How much did they charge you?

535 is pretty decent from Subaru - definitely interested...

Professional fitter - called The Spoiler Shop in Myaree. $150 took them 2 hours but it was the first one they had done.
The guys at Subaru parts told me specifically - "don't let us fit it - the guys in the workshop just take to the car with a drill". I lol'd.

Is it me or do you need to drill 7 holes to fit this spoiler to your boot lid?

Could you please take a picture of the new Subaru Struts please, I have a suspicion that Subaru didn't install the new struts when I took my car in to get installed by them.

Also does any of you notice metal shavings in the boot when opening/closing?

Anyone know if Subaru is still selling the spoilers separately to Toyota owners? I'm about to get my 86, and wondering if this is still an option...

Anyone have any shavings left inside the boot from the drillings that you can hear when you open/close the boot?

My european 86 came with this spoiler installed. Actually it's standard equipment here. I think it is pretty useless regarding performance. Will swap it for a TRD spoiler that looks cleaner in my opinion.

Don't see how it would provide downforce. The top of it is pretty much flat so there's not much in the way of a resultant downwards force, nor any significant area which acts as an aero foil other than possibly the winglets but even these are quite small. Wouldn't count on much if at all negative lift generated by this wing.

I put one on and it reduced my lap times by 3 seconds.

(Although I did put one on, the rest of this post is complete bullshit)

I had the BRZ spoiler added to my GTS about a week after I bought it, and had all sorts of issues with the guy using the wrong screws to put it on and even dropping a screw between the two boot layers which left a nice new rattle in my car.

First thing to mention is don't go to Newgel in Fyshwick (Canberra) to get a spoiler added they are a bunch of cowboys.

Anyway, I fixed the dropped screw issue by buying a little rare earth magnet from aussiemagnets.com.au:

http://aussiemagnets.com.au/product/...-Earth%29.html

I then drew the screw out by sliding the magnet along the inside of the boot. It's a really strong magnet and it only took a few minutes to get it out. If you take the black fabric off from the boot lid there is a fairly sizable hole that you can get your hand into and you can easily grab the screw once the magnet is slid up to it.

I also found three discs of metal that the guy had cut out to put the screws in, that he'd pushed into the boot too, and I could get those out easily as well with the magnet.

Now I fixed all those issues he caused I'm loving the new spoiler.
Just thought I'd pass on the fix, particularly for the dropped screws, in case anyone else found a nice new rattle when they had their spoiler fitted.

Cheers,
sigma.
