Thanks for that @Chocko I hadn;t come across them.

Unfortunately none of their stuff appears to allow a tablet or iphone display gauges, they seem to be more about reading and diagnosing error codes.

A US$10 ELM327 with an android phone running torque app will do the trick but unfortunately nothing for the iphone that will show oil temp yet.

Not sure if you guys on this thread saw I finally got the gauges on my dash!

Have now installed an android head unit that will work with carscope and torque apps. Personally I prefer carscope with my HKS OB-LINK.

And look what I have on my dash now - gauges incl oil temp.

Can also play music and have gauges at the same time as this Bluetooth dongle will work with my USB stick plugged into my cheap USB hub.

This is the unit http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...duct/1274.html

To get torque and/or carscope working on this head unit you need to root it following the directions on post 1 on this thread http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29723 with the root files linked to. You also need an ELM327 or HKS OB -LINK and a compatible Bluetooth dongle like this one http://dx.com/p/ultra-mini-bluetooth...r-black-146349

Sorry about the quality of the photo but you get the gist.

Old photo showing fitment - perfect with stock mount and bezel, no alterations required

Does the factory usb and aux input still work with this unit? Hows the unit in general? Responsive? Satnav any good?

Very nice @nzer!!!
Where do you get the *.APK file for the ELM/HKS to communicate with the head unit?
Thanks

Really easy @stevo_12v - once rooted using those files just went to the google play store and downloaded OB-BRIDGE and carscope and just works.

I have just got a new ELM327 so going to try torque over the weekend but no reason it won't work given others already have it working on the almost identical TUN21A head unit.

If you have a read of this thread (yes it is massive) I believe there's a work around so the factory USB still works. Here in NZ our cars don't have a separate factory USB, it is built into the OEM head unit. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29723

Sound is great. Unit is pretty good and has a capacitive screen. I m still playing with different apps for music but you can get whatever you want from the google play store.

Does take about 35s to boot up on start up though.

And this one looks like another option without having to root but I'd E699 so a bit more expensive and no-one has tested yet. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=570

@krikke will have one to test soon though!
