Here's the thing. The letter was either written by a female, or a male with impeccable penmanship.

If it's the former, she probably has a date, and since you have a BRZ, it's probably standard (mirite) so he/she probably can't drive it to begin with. Said possible date probably can't drive it either (assuming). Call in good nature and explain that, they'll probably say "aww shucks" and you can always offer them a casual (read: spirited) ride to make their day.

If the latter, the young boy is probably fairly neat and tidy given the hand writing. If his penmanship was messy it translates to lifestyle as well.

Karma will reward you eventually.

You guys are brutal. I would probably do it. I lent my Z06 to a buddy for his wedding. I also borrowed a buddies Benz for my sister's wedding. Remember it is only a car, and if it would bring the kid joy then why not.

keep in mind the people that you have been lending to have been people that you know and trust... Will you trust a complete strange with your car without you there for a whole day?

i wouldn't mind giving him a ride to prom

I am a very trusting person, so until I am given a reason not to trust someone, then I trust them. I have allowed complete strangers to borrow my $2000 trailer as well.

Well, i have to admit that you sir are awesome.

I would have to get to know the person before i let them drive my car or borrow anything i own.

Then again i'm not made of money so i tend to be very cautious when\if i had to think about lending my car that is 25k... to some people 25k isnt much but to me thats alot...

Sure would've come in handy a few times this past year!

Seriously though, that's awesome that there are still people like you out there that trust first. I wish I could be of the same mind, but I've been burned on more than one occasion by people taking advantage of me.

I'm not surprised by most of the answers. Honestly, I already knew that there was no way in hell I was gonna let this kid borrow my car, let alone a stranger. Not because I don't trust strangers, but once you get behind the wheel of this car, it kinda poisons you. All morals go away and you just want to drive the hell out of this thing, especially to a teenager. I know I would if I were him.

I replied back to the kid telling him no for a few reasons. One because sports car. But also, I don't want to have to come back to my car with a black light and find some "stains"
