Like I said, I was comfortable without it, but now that I have one it's even better. I'm going to be driving this car for as long as it will let me so I might as well settle in.

On a side-note, let me know how ten-n-two or nine-n-three works out six hours in to a sixteen hour drive!
My total FR-S driving experience is 30 minutes. From that short time, I agree. Any drive over a couple of hours and I'll take another car or truck, although I don't use the armrests in any of them either. It's more about having the option to easily change seating position instead of feeling welded in place.

if I really need somewhere to rest both my hands, its usually folded in my lap. At stoplights I look like I'm meditating.

not a bad thing at all. I think I drive better when the nannies stop telling me what to do.

An armrest is one of those things that you won't miss till you have it. IMO its pretty important now that I've used one for so long.

I bought the OEM Toyota Euro armrest and I would never go back to not having one.

A 10-buck Ikea pillow works great when you need an arm-rest.

I'm a little too comfortable using the e-brake as an armrest. Sometimes I think I might get excited and pull it while cruising down the road. XD

seat in lowest position, cup holder is at perfect height for being an arm rest. I'm 5'10 average limb lengths.

I can hands down say after all the mods ive put on my car the oem armrest is the best one. If i had to get rid of every single mod i had except one it would be the armrest. You dont know how bad not having it is until you have one. ITS INSANE, so comfortable, Like all of you i used the ebrake as the armrest. terrible. Not to mention how amazing it looks, OEM as can be and it cleans up the entire interior. NO more seeing my phone or money clip or my headphones or my Microfiber towel I use to keep my shift knob cool on hot days. its all enclosed. and gorgeous. Oh and did i mention it locks open??? So all you fools who need your cofee or your big gulps the cupholder still is 100% functional. it locks open. and I mean locks. I have done some pretty hard power slides with it open to test it and it works like a charm!!! I had to go out and take pictures right now because seriously. GO BUY THE ARMREST!
EDIT AND did i mention there is a cutout so you can charge your phone outside of the armrest while the cutout allows for the armrest to close snug as a bug in a rug with the cord fed through the cutout. they literally nailed this armrest!!!

Two weeks ago when I left work my coworkers IS250 had the driver window smashed out and the center console ransacked. I'd like to think my BRZ was untouched because it's visible that nothing was in it.

When I moved from my Sil-80 I thought a center console would be my first upgrade but a month in, I have to say it's really a non issue.

I tend to frequent roads that require some activity with the MT.... so my right arm isn't too idle... and when it is, it is either on the steering wheel or the shift knob.

Sometimes... if on the hwy... I might rest it on the handbrake handle.

I thought I would want an armrest of some flavor... but now, after 10 months.. glad I didn't spend the $$.
