Most likely not...but that sounds really ghetto and could make a mess on a hot day.

Get a plug. I spent 1.89 at Canadian tire. worth it :happy0180:

A foamy type earplug has already been shown as well.
I believe that the tuna can looking widget in the middle of the sound tube in the engine bay has a diaphram in it, so the interior is isolated from the engine at that point.

How DARE you knock BluTac (It does not melt by the way).

I have BluTac, aluminium foil, and silicone rubber fetishes...got 'em all over the place.

Did you hear about the couple who did not know the difference between personal lubricant and silicone rubber?

When they made passionate love, their windows fell out.

Phew.

Much as I love my BluTac (see above) I know it rates poorly as a lubricant.

Suppose Tada was thinking of the owners when they designed it.

Be prepared.

I did this, minus the packing, during my test drive a couple of days ago. I thought the salesman was going to mess himself, he was so astonished.
Completely different car without all that noise being pumped in.
I'm a little old (or will be soon) to be climbing in an out of a car this low every day, but I think I'm going to get myself an asphalt automatic FR-S pretty soon.

Hahahaha that's gold, now the salesman knows what to do when a potential customer complains about the sound induction noise

I just did this for mine, loved it. Told a friend of mine about this and told me I should plug up the air tube off the throttle body, because it could potentially mess up the mass air readings. Any thoughts on this?

My understanding is that the tube does not transmit air, think of it more like the diaphragm on a drum. Besides, if it was critical to mass air readings it wouldn't be covered by a rug.

Given the blue TRD sound changer is blocked meaning the sound tube is blocked at the firewall just like this mod you don't need to block off anything else.

Installed the plug today - WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

Now it is quiet under 5,000 RPM and the natural engine noise comes through - which I like even better than the "brap" from the sound tube.

Thank you "Tech".

Should've taken these photos ages ago - better late than never:

@Tech, could you please add these photos into your first post? That way people won't need to scroll through the pages to find it.
