That's an analogue speedo?

I thought it was a gauge that measured my sense of self satisfaction from driving the 86.

It would have been better to have a colored background like yellow to attract the eye. As it is the speedo is nearly invisible.

I forget its there, most of the time. There has been talk of development of a auxiliary gauge cluster, but as far as I have seen, its all talk. Would also be completely aftermarket.

On a side note, the analogue speedo is the only one available for the base 86 models overseas. If we have as much problems seeing it, imagine how they must feel.

Yup, that's all my "standard" spec GT86 has got - no digital speedo.

In one way it's a bummer, but in another way it's a godsend because (in my RHD car) my wife can't see the analogue speedo and is blissfully unaware of what actually goes on...

I just keep the digital as KM/H, so I am forced to look at analog lol

It's totally useless, but I like to see numbers go up fast and higher haha

Yep they dropped the ball. For this to be a performance oriented car with track intentions, they didn't plan the clusters out well at all. I would've preferred the s2000 look personally. Keep it simple.

Hell the GT-R gives owners a look at everything you can imagine, including cup size of your passenger so why can't Tada and crew give us oil temp, water temp, and some useful info?

Coming from the 07 SI which I think has one of the best speedo placements the FR-S is meh. Hopefully in the refresh they will replace that side with a G-Force meter or something hahahaha

The gt-86 doesn't have a digital?

I'm glad I don't live in japan, because I speed enough as it is!

Not sure if sarcastic, or...

Just curious about all those suggesting oil temp/pressure, how many other regular road cars have you seen with these kinds of gauges? Because I know 90% of the time I'm driving this car, I'm not going to care about the oil temp or pressure. Others may be more regularly tracking the car, but the default configuration isn't built for a track car.

(not that the speedo is useful, but an oil pressure gauge would be twice as useless in my opinion.)

Edit: and not sure if I misunderstand the oil temp gauge... is that just giving a more accurate reading of the temp indicator that's on the right?

The only car I've seen with oil temp/pressure was the '57 Chevy Station Wagon I drove during my senior year of high school. Would you like an engine choke as well so it can heat up in the morning?

It's easy to forget and say useless when big digital numbers are easy to pick out at a glance.. If digital speed wasn't available, then it would be like every other car.. You'd be use to it after a couple days of driving
