That's why i opted not to use it. I would do it, then have to check to see if it worked. Why not just skip a step and set the map to start.

The problem is when people continue to talk about it like it's something reliable - when it's not.

It's worked every time for me so far ... but I still check it just in case!!! It would be great if someone like Ecutek could fix it up to ensure it is fully reliable for us all.

We use John for a reason guys. He's our tuner and telling us proper steps to enjoy our cars. I asked only to see where it was but when John says no then I'm waiting until he's ready. Thanks for all you do @Visconti

Why I use the 3 pulls? Because it save me lot of time.
I open door same time I'm seating down I pull three time on the Start button, As soon as I'm seat down I press press clutch and press one more time to start engine and as I engage first gear I pull cruize control to double check it stayed on my E85 tune and then put seat belt on as I released clutch to move on.
Maybe I'm hyper active but I have no time to loose for seat down press two time then select E85 map then start engine. I'm already far by that time

Just flashed my car on the weekend on STG1 pump gas map (only mod i have is Perrin panel drop in and Perrin header back). car seems to be fine and there are stronger pull from 2500rpm then hit the torque dip then pull strong again from 4000rpm.

however i seem to hear some knock sensor sound around 3000 - 4000rpm. is it normal or is it the DI sound? i don't think i heard this before flashing.......

would data logging capture this? ambient temp was around 22 degrees C (around 72 degrees F), water and engine oil temp were warm and normal.

thanks.

I thought the same thing too, but I think its intake sound. He recently revised a more aggressive cam timing map in that RPM range to help with more mid-range.

thanks for your reply. it's more like ta-ta-ta-ta sound so i doubt very much its intake sound. this sound is quite common with my previous rides on lower octane gas but i don't think i've ever heard this on my 86 before ecu flash.

Oh, its a metallic sound for sure. Def have John look over the logs though just in case. Wait until you try E85

It's my magical AVCS Timing map, the heart of my tune.. It's a good sound, nothing to worry about

Why wouldn't you want to hear that? I play with it all the time while punching it. Indeed a good sound.
