Tried washing it today. The nose goblins are some sort of alien survivalist DNA nano coating resistant to all known forms of washing prophylaxis.

They're particularly noticeable on Whiteout.

Found a Mother's clay bar system thing on sale at O'Rileys for 17fourtysomeodd.
They wanted 22andsome for Meguires.

(edit: Checked in at Target yesterday and they had Meguires for 14. Oh well. I needed it right away.)

Have to say: clay bar took all the guts off much more efficiently than a fingernail and wet sponge.

Tired, but satisfied.

Found a few rock dings through the paint and two impacts on the windshield. Not cracked though.
6K miles now. Had fun anyway.

Really enjoyed your adventure, thanks for sharing it, did the similar route 10 years ago on a motorcycle and look forward to doing it on the 86 sometime soon.
