I may have missed it in this thread or it wasn't mentioned.
Are these going to by MY2013 or MY2014? I know the regular 2014 models are due in September. |

That would be nice and also be nice if they are under $500 each :/

The FR-S Series 10 is a MY2013. The confusion is due to the fact that the Scion tC Series 10 will be sold as a MY2014. Not sure about the other Scion models. |

Got to see the 10 Series at Toyotafest in Long Beach today.
The silver looks much better in person, in sunlight. It is pearl, with blue and gold highlights. Much nicer than Argento, and I'm feeling better about the color now. Interestingly, they were also displaying the rest of the Series 10 lineup, and (as a friend pointed out) you could really see the difference between the FR-S (painted in Subaru factory) and the rest (painted by Toyota). The thicker painted Toyotas had a much softer look, while the thinner Subaru paint looked crisp and helped the pearl to stand out on the body lines. The light-up badges have a clear plastic (not super transparent, to diffuse the light) layer sandwiched between the badge and the body, with the same shape as the Scion badge. I definitely want to swap to Toyota badges, and was wondering about the possibility of keeping the lights, but it wouldn't fit well. No real loss there, though. I might make a 3d model of a replacement that would fit Toyota badges and 3d print in an appropriate plastic. Frosted Ultra Detail from Shapeways would be a good match for the material. The light-up shift knob was absent, probably to prevent theft. Again, no loss as I will certainly replace with the Toyota knob. It did have the frameless rear-view mirror. The head unit looks much nicer than the previous options, and I was told it does have nav included. The digital HVAC/push-button start/keyless entry was all present as expected. The start button is begging to be replaced with the red TRD button. I'm not sure if I will keep the silver belts. Front and rear belts are all silver. They don't look bad, but I think I would still prefer black. There was quite an FR-S showing at Toyotafest this year. The Series 10 was the only bone-stock FR-S at the show, and it didn't get much attention next to all the nicely modded bretheren surrounding it. After seeing in person, the wait will be that much harder now, but at least I've got time to collect parts... |

I think it looks pretty awesome because the headlights really bring out the contour. I don't ever see tiny glowing emblem will deter your purchase's decision.
I'm thinking of wrap the roof with black gloss vinyl and pair it with gramlights 57 extreme 18". What do you think? I'm mostly looking for cosmetic. Is that Eibach sportlines good enough? Will you highly recommend coilovers instead? |

Does it come with heated & leather seats?
I hope the details of the 2014 MY are out by the time we get to decide on these... |

No, he meant the FR-S painted by Subaru and "others" as in the rest of the 10 series cars

I'd jump on that. I expect the 10 series to be right around that price. You would get much more with the limited.

They were showing all 5 of the 10 Series Scions, which are all painted Ignition Silver, but 4 of those models (tC, xB, xD, and iQ) are built at Toyota plants (in Japan), while the FR-S is built at the Subaru plant (also in Japan). Subaru's paint process is different, resulting in much thinner paint, and the difference was quite noticeable seeing them all side by side.
