Who's on who's ass in the turns?

If a bike is on your ass in the turns, wave him by, instead of speeding up in the straights...

Then try and stay with him, if you can.

--------

In tight twisties, if the bike is on the car's ass in the turns and the car speeds up in the straights, it doesn't mean it is faster than the bike. It just means the biker is being careful.

The bike (in many cases) could pass the car but that would make the entry speed for an upcoming turn unsafe.....especially with the unpredictable car driver doing???

this is true! it "bleeds" horsepower at the rear wheels due to slippage in the gear box, hence the term "slush" box.now this issue has been "negated" somewhat with the introduction of the "lock-up" torque converter which does a good job of minimizing slippage, however,a 'slush" box will never equal a "direct drive" transmission, because of "more" direct to the wheels (brake horsepower)
and subsequently much less slippage to the driving wheels.

Put better tires on that Vespa and I'll bet things would be different.

Speed limit here in Oregon where I drive is nice. Speed limit on 205 is 55 and speed limit on 84 is 60. (Both the highways I take to work) On 205 I cruise doing 60 in 6th. If I need power to pass I switch to 4th.... If there is a steep grade I switch to 5th. When i'm on 84 I cruise at 65 in 6th the whole way and have no issues.... My car is tuned though so it's perky.

Haha yeah maybe lol.

I always enjoyed mountain runs with mates on bikes...the car seems to go through the corners faster (not the sweepers of course) but every bike I've every played with, as soon as they accelerate...bye bye.
