How come the car wasn't in the garage? I just dont understand spending copious amounts of money on a car only to park it outside.

i moved to san antonio, tx in 2005 to attend Univeristy of Texas (San Antonio) 3 days after moving there to a "secure area" my turbo 95 civic with alarm was stolen from my apartment (parked in outside parking), A week later my roomate had his stock Del Sol with Enkei wheels stolen because he didnt use the garage he was paying to park in for one night. Thats all it took. Luckily his car was recovered before it was stripped, mine, not so lucky it was found missing the carbon hood, trunk, lip, mirrors, recaro seats, work boots, tshirts, golf clubs, wheels, turbo, (motor was still intact), and a bunch of other stuff. I swore i would never buy another Honda and that i would own a garage at every place i lived. Never had a issue since.

Completely understandable, but he spent the night at his girlfriends house the day it was stolen. He parks his car in the driveway at his house but he has a gate and security cameras so it's not a problem there.

I don't have the luxury of parking my car in the garage due to parents getting that spot....lol

geez - after the effort you put out posting a notice here and other forums to help him find his wheels, i'd think that he'd at least be grateful for that.

Eh, it's fine. I'm willing to go out of my way to help a fellow car enthusiast who went through a rough patch. Just happy he got his stuff back. Thieves have been on the rise lately

I am sure he has reasons he cannot divulge. I am assuming he had to take drastic measures. I have never gotten any of my stuff back before. Even filing police reports. Pretty much a moot point. Gotta take matters into your own hands sometimes.
