What?

I was under the impression that saying "sold as is" is the smart thing to do so you don't come back with a guy claiming you misrepresented the item trying to screw you. Care to explain?

Not at a swapmeet.

Sold as is isn't so you don't come back but that you just potentially bought stolen wheels and returning "misrepresented wheels" is not possible.

Doing so on a forum may be different but I find it incredibly shady when they say sold as is for wheels with tires; however, there was a case when I saw very particular powder coated enkei's for sale. Turned out they were stolen after all since someone posted online about their missing set of wheels. lol

But like I said.. sold as is varies. I just don't trust "sold as is" car parts if they're just simply dumping the responsibility to someone else.

That's my take of it. Good and bad on both sides... but mostly bad when it comes to swapmeet "sold as is."

Hoped that cleared it up.

I've heard of people stealing car parts (not wheels) and they tried to sell them at a car meet for super cheap "as is". Some one bought them (they were stolen) and it just became a huge hassle for everyone. Original owner wanted his stuff back. Buyer wanted his money back. Thief got away by throwing it onto the buyer. Sticky situation....

just be careful of who you buy from!

Sometimes "too good to be true" is actually right!

Ah missed that part.

Still I would never sell something like tires without saying "as-is", I don't want the guy coming back a week later blaming me because he shredded used tires drifting or blaming me that the lug pattern doesn't match up.

I guess I'll keep listing stuff "sold as-is" and you'll keep flagging it.

Hah! I just find it difficult to "believe" when you see some interesting set of wheels at a fleamarket/swapmeet ya know.

Shiet, if you got your stuff stolen and I might have spotted it at the swapmeet/fleamarket I'd give you a heads up.

Forum wise... I'd probably believe it a bit more. Although I'd ask a lot more questions.

I'll also ask for a lot more photos too.

Don't mean to bump a dead thread, but there's some new information about the stolen wheels.

My friend Kevin Ha has the wheels in his possession again! He found them!

I'm not quite sure of the details, but he informed everyone that he found the wheels!

Thanks everyone who kept an eye out. :happy0180:
