500 BRZ's + 5000 FRS' is a lot of these cars floating around. Even if the proportions are a bit off, anywhere near 4000 cars in Canada is selling quite a lot.
If you look at something like the 2004 Audi RS6, there was only 90 in Canada, that's a much more limited run.

500 is right
It's been confirmed, 500 for Canada for the model year. I checked with 5 dealers in Montreal, and they were getting between 3-7 cars for the entire year, so it sounds about right. Very difficult to get the exact color/specs you want without being on a waiting list.
