Do you mean through the stock amp?

Works absolutely fine. Plug and play.

I just couldn't hear them initially as sound through front was so much better and rear speakers are so shitty. Has a fader control built in and put it to back to test. AOK.

Good deal man. I see one of these in my future, but tell me... Do the green LEDs combined with the red make it feel like Christmas? Haha

i wonder if it would be possible to ask the manufacturer to change the led lights for you before you buy it? It seems like a very strange choice of color, as ive never seen anyone with green interior lights. I dont much care for my blue ones either.

Might be able to get 50 if we can get root, torque and OB-LINK going. Then we could perhaps do a group buy if mods would let us.

Had a couple of new USB dongles arrive today but just went to try and had left car ignition and interior light on for two days while I've been away and battery flat! On charge now so can test tomorrow.

Here's the news we've been waiting for - it works!

Got one of these dongles http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/c...-587671830.htm

And look what I have on my dash now - gauges incl oil temp. At the moment I'm using my HKS OB-LINK from the OBD@ port with the carscope app but I'm 99.999% it will work with an ELM327 and torque. Just need to wait for my ELM327 to test.

Can also play music and have gauges at the same time as this Bluetooth dongle will work with my USB stick plugged into my cheap USB hub.

I'm so happy!

I'd like to thank the academy... actually @2forme, @Narcoden, @sav, @Ghostmerlott and @ph0en1xtk for their help and encouragement. Special big shout out to @2forme who has been very patient with this car stereo and android virgin and of course supplied the most valuable root files and @Narcoden who with a couple of sentences gave me the encouragement I need to try the install myself.

Sorry about the quality of the photo but it is dark here at the moment and was pretty excited to report this back!

Old photo showing fitment - perfect with stock mount and bezel, no alterations required

A DIY LED color swap will not be something for me...
If it's like this, then it's way above my skills...

To give you an idea:

This can be done no?

50 units isn't that much if we can properly promote this... (ebay, other forums, etc...)

Question is if they will deliver the device routed from the factory... I think this will be a no go.

On the other hand, if they do custom builds with MOQ 50pcs, it's better to include 2 LED color combo so the buyer can choose the color he prefers by going into 'settings' or so. (red or blue) This will attract a larger clientele which have blue interior lighting (VW for example).

Just thinking out loud...

These units are great for us as they are a Toyota fitment. If you try and make it wider won't you have issues with fitment not being universal?

I agree 50 units isn't too many but with it requiring root (assuming they won't at factory) people will still be worried about bricking them. Only takes the factory to change the rom required a little and...

I think best to simply convince them of the big market for an orange LED version and get them to meet the market if possible.
