I can understand why people love and hate this kit. I actually love it because the stock FRS is a boring looking car and the kit including the spoiler makes it look really sporty like Xantonin has already mention. It will also need a drop and better looking wheels with a sweet offset to pull it off well. The hate seems to be directed to the wing and I agree that a lot of people will never get to feel the benefits of the wing if it's functional and I am one of those people since I could care less about tracking this car.

It's sad that the wing is getting so much hate.

I hate wings that are added on to a car and don't fit the style of the car, or that serve no function. To quote Wikipedia:

Quote:
A spoiler is an automotive aerodynamic device whose intended design function is to 'spoil' unfavorable air movement across a body of a vehicle in motion. Spoilers on the front of a vehicle are often called air dams, because in addition to directing air flow they also reduce the amount of air flowing underneath the vehicle which reduces aerodynamic lift. Spoilers are often fitted to race and high-performance sports cars, although they have become common on passenger vehicles as well. Some spoilers are added to cars primarily for styling purposes and have either little aerodynamic benefit or even make the aerodynamics worse.
Spoilers for cars are often incorrectly confused with, or the term used interchangeably with, wings. Automotive wings are devices whose intended design is to generate downforce as air passes around them, not simply disrupt existing airflow patterns.
Regardless of this, as mentioned I feel it looks good on the car. It's not like this:

And I'm sorry but if you cannot see nor understand the difference between the above images and those in my OP then you're a GD MF idiot and you need freaken glasses.

Please keep your wing hate out of this thread. I'm tired of debating this every single time.

And lastly...

How I feel about it is, if you don't want a wing, don't get it. And if the package you want includes a big wing, sell it on ebay or throw it away. Problem solved.
I see a lot of high performance cars with wing, and the owners don't even bother going to the track. I don't see anyone bitching about them. :\

I love the wing! By itself it would look horrible, but with the rest of the kit, my pee pee goes to the heavens!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions tho. If you don't like the wing, or edition/package deal, move on to the next posts.

This one is for me

Id hardly call it huge. The stock spoiler flows with the body lines and actually suits the car.

These days, there are too many who despise wings on their cars. These people don't want anything to do with wings, as they think it's "immature" and "rice". Many enthusiasts feel this way, and they're quite smug about it too.

Always been a gearhead since young, and my dream cars growing up were Ferrari's and Lambos...they all had big spoilers. So for me, fast cars and spoilers go hand in hand; I automatically associate them with each other. The top-of-the-line Viper ACR has a big wing. If I ever get an Evo or STi, couldn't imagine them without the huge spoiler, that's just how they're supposed to look.

Granted, some cars look awesome with them, some don't. Would NEVER put a spoiler on any M3, think they look tacky. In fact, most 4 door sports sedans look stupid with them (except Evo and STi, lol).

In this case, I'm with the camp that says the FR-S looks 'incomplete' without the kit. The spoiler looks awesome on it.
