If you guys are wrapping parts in leather, they MUST be properly toleranced first. That means removing the same amount of material from the plastic part as you're adding to it with leather. Generally, 1/16" is enough for leather and will allow all parts to sit flush/factory. If you don't tolerance your parts, the material will bunch up and look really bad.

I honestly think Redline is putting out good stuff (with the exception of the tilted BRZ logos) but it really boils down to incompetent installation. I'm not knocking anyone but if you don't know upholstery, DON'T DO IT!! You make your car look like total shit and you make the company that supplied the material look like shit too. You don't install leather or alcantara with "3m tacky strips" around the edges...you MUST glue the entire part and the material for a proper installation. Unless you have the basic upholstery tools (spray gun, contact cement, upholstery scissors, spatulas, etc) DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!! Support a local shop and have it done right...you will thank me later.

Laika is being a little too critical of Redline. The leather they use is first rate and the stitching is almost identical to JPM (I have a couple of their products). You save money by having to install the leather yourself and also not having to buy the replacement part. If you take your time and do a careful installation you should be alright.
i managed to get mine on but i can't get the clips to go in on the stereo piece closest to the passenger side dash piece. no matter how hard i push it stays slightly raised up. Looks ok otherwise minus a little bunching up at the bottom left corner. Alcantara looks like it would've been a lot easier since it's so thin and i probably should've just went with that but o well

I agree, the leather is awesome and they even offer nappa leather as an upgrade. I love the ebrake and shift boots. the ebrake was also an art project but it was definitely a lot easier than the dash as it was already cut with notches in the edges to get it around corners and whatnot and there was no extra material hanging off. The shift boot was perfect and took all of 5 minutes to unclip the old one and clip the new one on.

I like that. Was it tested to clip in ok with the real leather without bunching up?

We'll have another great part soon - one of our customer is sending us door speaker bezels for prototyping

We still need knee pads, auto shift boot and upper door trims (door sills) for prototyping. And any other parts you guys may want to have covered in leather

Anybody interested? Free covers are waiting :-)

And one more important information - we'll have a bunch of brand new OEM dash trims and gauge hoods delivered on Monday. So in case there's anybody interested in ordering those parts reupholstered for easy PlugAndPlay installation let me know, and we'll organize some nice GroupBuy

Take care
Jack
