Get some decals with your favorite golf ball manufacturer logo! :-) Seriously though that was the most painful ~2 minute video I've ever watched. That sucks. I'd see about a carbon fibre hood and roof if you're into that sort of thing, especially since the paint is cracked on the hood. But if you're set on new panels, you might be in for a battle with your insurance company. Good luck!

I would have thought something like that was silly but living in the southeast and having to park outside right now I've considered it.

Let your insurance company deal with it, that's why you have insurance. They will have someone come out and appraise it and likely recommend a body shop. You don't take the car back until it's fixed completely. Highly unlikely they will total it at this point.

The hood obviously can be replaced pretty easily along with the trunk, the rear quarter panels and roof are really where things will cost a bit to repair.

New panels from the factory aren't paint matched. They're bare metal and the matching is up to the integrity of the shop doing the work. A good pdr man can honestly do incredible work. Your insurance company may go with your wishes when there is a toss up as to which direction to go but if one method is noticeably cheaper than the other, they will only pay the cheaper. That doesn't mean you can't still get what you want if you're willing to pay the difference. If you have some dents that have cracked the paint that panel will have to be repainted, again by the body shop, hopefully of your choice. Do some research. Just because a dealership might have a body shop doesn't mean they're any good.

This forum doesn't play nice with other forums. Link is from 86forums . com. au and I'm sure google would find the thread ferdies-white-86-gts-is-no-longer-white for you also.

This happened to my FR-S last month. Is all fixed up now. Got a new hood, roof, and trunk. Cost the insurance company $6300. Good luck with everything.

I'm pretty sure the roof and the hood are aluminum. Not very strong against hail.
