MODS: THIS is why it is a bad idea to shove my post into the middle of a 300 response thread. Bad info is left to spread around due to the poor organization methods you are using.
See post 195 in this thread for my gains. They were in the 7-8hp range, and I did got my results via a PROPER repeatable procedure. |

@Thorpedo's numbers are better validated by his controlled/consistent test method. But I'm not chasing hp numbers. Just liked the design, bought into it, and got more than I bargained for. I mash the pedal a tad deeper now because I'm addicted to the sound/instant punch like that of a larger displacement engine... likely ruining my mpg but I don't care.

I love this intake! It rocks! Instant throttle response! I am just waiting for my tuner to review my datalogs so he can tune the car with this intake.
Did I say that it also smooths out the idle and that I makes a wicked sound at redline? The install was pretty easy! The instructions that come with the kit are very good and precise! I painted the ugly clips a flat black with primer base and then a few coats of oil rubbed bronze metallic. It came out pimp. I will upload some pics of it later. |

![]() The dyno I've quoted has been made in combination with the TRD exhaust (as I've marked in red). Hell knows how this modification affects performance gains.

Well, I think the exhaust will also help with the efficiency of the TRD CAI. So maybe the gains aren't that high with the stock exhaust. We don't know. As long as nobody is going to post a dyno with a stock FT86 as baseline and another one with the TRD CAI, the gains are not confirmed.

The first mode is where you see the most gain then each time you add something you see less.
For exemple if you put first exhaust you might see an extra 10 whp but then Intake in second will only show an extra 5whp where as if you put first inatke you might see an extra 10 whp and then exhaust will add an extra 5 whp only. Mod's don't add. So I think it's quite nice to see a 7 whp extra knowing he already had a catback before. |

You're right, that may cause a slight variation. If you had some common sense however you would know that the affect would be minimal. You're splitting hairs. WhaT ABouT The ChAnGe In Air TemP BetWeEn thE Two RUnS???11?!?! Yes it is only a fraction of a degree, but that may cause a variation in results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
