Also, I don't mean to shit on your thread and don't take it the wrong way... but this car wasn't designed to be an all-murrican stop light hero. If you're using it for dragging on the streets then you should have just bought a cheap mustang wit dem SICK MAWDZ YO while living your life quarter mile at a time.

Btw change your air filter to something like K&N, throttle response will greatly improve.

I am far from the person keeping this car in pristine condition. Its a cheap car and I treat it like one. On the other hand I get what you are saying with this car was not meant for speed. I autoX and track mine and they are not the fastest cars out there but they are a lot of fun.

These cars are way to much fun to be out playing look who's willy is bigger at the stop lights. Just go have some fun power sliding and drifting around some corners on the track or murdering cones on the AutoX course. Trust me you are never going to fully enjoy this car on a public road or a parking lot I thought I was until I started taking it to events and now I drive like a grandma on the road because I know the car can never reach it's potential in that setting.

Fixed.

If spending thousands of dollars to alleviate whatever imaginary humiliation you believe attendant upon the outcome of this situation seems like a good idea then you need some new ideas.

It's called baiting. If someone is driving below the limit when you are behind, there's a strong chance they will floor it when you pass. They're just trying to set you up because they've heard it's under powered.
I get it all the time and choose the right gear so i'm ready and haven't been hung out to dry yet.

They are cruising at 90kph in a 110 limit. I use 4th and go to 130+ and they are up my clacker when I get back down near 110. Case closed.
Hopefully they will report those 86/FRS/BRZ's go better than they reckon they do in the magazines.

A Grand Am from anywhere within the last decade (or two) can come with a 3.1L V6 with oodles more torque than you. They have plenty of torque to keep up/pull away from an FRS at anything below double the speed limit

If he was an enthusiast, he might even swap in the GM L67 supercharged 3.8L V6 from other cars that share the same chassis.

Even in a heavy car like that they run high 14's with nothing done to them, and when you start to do pulley swap/supporting mods they can get into the 13's
