Closed hood dynos perhaps? Even the AEM and Injen only got 5.x though and one uses snorkle and the other basically does not. If anyone has the magazine maybe the testing procedure didn't include a reset? 15 min. per intake with all the stuff they tested would add up.

Something is odd with their math. The OEM intake hp on the TRD video says 176, but in the HKS video it says the OEM intake hp is 174 hp. Why would they run multiple OEM baselines everytime? Also in the K&N drop in video they produced 178.26 whp (with no stated OEM reference), a similar number to the TRD box hp gain of 178.75, but called it a 5+ hp gain vs the TRD's 2.5 hp gain. I don't have access to the magazine so I'm not sure what methodology they are using to test all these intakes; maybe it took them several days so thus the use of multiple OEM baselines? I did appreciate being able to compare the sounds of the intakes more than anything though and found that to be the most valuable in this compilation of videos.

Hey guys. I've done a lot of business with TRDparts4u (Toyota of Dallas) thru the FJ forums and they've always kept me happy with their service and good prices. I contacted them to see if they could get us some competitive pricing on this intake with a group buy or something and he replied with a special discount, no group buy necessary.

$376 for the intake. Awesome for those like me in CA(no tax when buying from TX). Here's the link;

Just wanted to share the good deal with you guys.
