If you don't mind me asking... what are "speed holes"?

I certainly hope you aren't talking about those idiots that cut round holes in their rear bumpers.

BTW: Welcome to the obsession!

LOL it was a joke in reference to the poster I quoted, speed holes do not make your car any faster. He mentioned (jokingly Im sure) how red was the fastest color, and I referenced the old Simpsons episode where Homer decides to punch "speed holes" in his car with a pick axe after seeing bullet holes in a car at a dealership.

Everybody has horror stories with any new car. Don't sweat it man, I've had 2 and no major problems so far. Plus its a toyota so their warranty is pretty good.

Sounds like you considered it carefully and made a good rational decision to buy an impractical car. Life is short dude, don't look back and enjoy the car!

I bought mine a few days ago after months of deliberation and I know I don't regret it.

One thing you may come to realize over time the enjoyment of driving this car gets better and better.

As far as the practicality aspect, one of my college professors told me "you should have a logical reason for your decisions; however, you should do one thing in life which logic does not apply." Buying the FRS was my illogical choice, considering I have kids, but they fit in the back and sometimes logic should take a backseat to enjoyment.

well said! Thanks to everyone in this thread giving me the positive reinforcement I've been craving, Im feeling less guilty by the day haha.

The bad news now is that there are no cars in Canada that meet my criteria, which means mine is coming from Japan. The dealership said they'll know next week what kind of time frame Im looking at. Im guessing this means its going to be a bare minimum few months then, right? My sales rep was fairly hush hush on the topic...
