Wow I'm very surprised the resin is flexible at those temps. Not a fiberglass expert but I do a lot of work with carbon (very similar) and that stuff needs to be super hot to flex. Anyways, I have a heat gun if you need one.

Do you think a hair dryer would work? At least I shouldn't have to worry about over-heating it that way..

If you're willing though I'd love another set of eyes and hands.. and if you've worked with carbon you most likely have a good feel for working with materials like this.. You free at all this weekend? I'm open Friday afternoon, all day Sat. and Sunday.

So in the past when I've gone sliding my car around I've just been pushing the car harder and harder into a turn until it gradually transitions into a slide. Last night I had to go pick up someone's car in an industrial park at about 10 when it was completely deserted so I decided to try a few proper clutch kick drifts in an open parking lot. Sweet merciful Jesus is that hilariously terrifying. If you haven't done that yet, I highly recommend grabbing some open space and trying that out. One second your car is holding perfectly through a turn and the next your tires are screaming and you are totally sideways.

Yeah kicking the clutch is like ripping the e-brake it = instant slide! I would say the only safe place to do this unless people REALLY know how to drift is an empty parking lot, the good news is we don't have to push these cars to slide anyways. Nothing beats a good 360 spin in a parking lot. Puts a smile on you face.

Kind of a random post, but I'd like to invite you guys to check out our local car club/race group FB page (if you're into that)

https://www.facebook.com/EmpireRacingMI

Based in Midland, but we race at events all over the country (most recently, one of our group members participated in the Modified Magazine Streetcar Shootout in Phoenix...also have had members participate in One Lap of America, and SCCA Solo II Nationals)

Anyway, sorry for the plug, but figured I'd spread the word because right now I'm the only person with an FRS and it'd be nice to expand that a bit!

Mind sharing where this parking lot was? I've had no luck finding a nice empty parking lot for fooling around like this.

This particular area is 5 mile and beck. There is an industrial park/shipping office area around there with a lot of parking lots. There are still high traffic areas within ear shot so I don't know that I'd do extended drift sessions there anyway. Industrial areas and churches seem to be places with lots of big, open lots that aren't inhabited after hours. We used to "race" in high school in an industrial park and were never bothered. I still haven't found anywhere I'd feel comfortable hanging out for any length of time though...generally just a few quick passes and on my way.
