meh, just got a perrin filter. the 5 hp for $50 sounds nicer than a 10 hp for $300+

Most my customers are ordering up the Takeda intake that I see come through here more than anything else, but we do have quite a few panel filter orders as well in the mix.

I have an AFE dry flow drop in filter. I, however, did NOT notice:
A) increases throttle response
B) better idle
C) more power
D) reduced torque dip
In fact, I can't tell the difference, I bought it because its reusable and easy to clean.

this is an extension of zooki's post above.

i just installed the perrin inlet tube + aFe dry drop in filter a couple days ago. i did notice an increase in throttle response. the rough idle still seems to be the same. the quicker response makes me believe slight increase in power. not sure about torque dip.

I have a drop in filter since most of the intakes seem to make the same hp and I don't want to spend 4x the amount with nearly the same performance. Plus I plan to go FI, would be a waste since I would have to use the specific intake the system requries

i had the injen till it made my car run like shit. i now have the afe dryflow filter just because its reusable and easy to clean. i hated my old K&N in my evo

Got the Zeta silicone intake and Stage 2 DIF, dyno produced 8whp compared to OEM run..

its something with the ECU and where the MAP is at i believe. it was great for awhile but after a couple hundred it started to idle horrible and actually died at a stop light. after re-installing the stock intake and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery it ran perfect.
i guess its hit or miss with them..i also had the the aluminum pipe which messes up more then then the plastic one ive read.
