I joined the VIP Program. I have had to wait until August 22nd to be able to use it. I ended up getting a better deal at Heuberger Motors. I'm also getting my car a whole month earlier than the program would allow me to even start looking.

I thought that by going the VIP route I would be able to get a good deal here in SoCal, but then every single dealer that I asked said they would not participate in the program for the BRZ. They still have $3k markups!

Now that I really sat down and think about it, I find it a joke, because they should make it that the dealer HAS to help you if you're a VIP member, not decide if they want to.

yeah, if I get *any* grief from my local dealer I will be calling up Heuberger. Otherwise I'll be working on selling my current cars before my BRZ shows up.

So far, the most painless dealer ordering experience I've had:
1) Called IMBA and said I want to get a new car at Subaru of Georgetown, TX
2) 3 hours later Subaru emailed me my visit authorization form which they also send to the dealer
3) a little while after that Subaru of Georgetown called me and we ordered my BRZ @ 2% under invoice. took 10 minutes.

Anyone from Canada have a good experience with this program? I signed up a couple of days ago, so I won't be able to use it until October, but I'd love to hear about Canadians using the program successfully in the meantime.

That is for clubs, like IMBA mountain biking chapters, if they want to use the VIP program to buy a car for the club.

I've ridden in the Trail care crews' 'IMBA-ru' and can vouch that you probably would like all the thumbs up you get from Mountain bikers. but don't worry it won't come with a $$$$ full-vehicle vinyl wrap job.

Has the WRX been on the VIP pricing before, or is this the first time?

I'm thinking the new WRX ('15 model) won't be eligible for VIP right away, but if it follows the BRZ' route, then maybe after the first year it would? Or bc no one else sells the WRX for cheaper (ie, no Scion variant), don't expect VIP to apply to future WRX unless they're having trouble selling them.

Yes, I'm asking to predict the future - but it would be good to know if the WRX was ever on the VIP price discount in recent past years. Thanks.

WRX/STi have been in and out of the VIP program before but I'm not sure on dates.
When I first looked Christmas '11 they were on the VIP program, maybe they got dropped when the BRZ came out.

I spoke with some local dealers in Nor Cal who were familiar with the VIP program but almost shat themselves laughing when I asked about the BRZ being included on that list. I know you're not suppose to contact the dealer first but if anyone else in Nor Cal knows of a dealer to honor this program please advise

Heuberger in CO is doing a great job taking business from all the greedy dealers that got less allocation and aren't VIP friendly. If I wasn't doing VIP and didn't need to wait a few months before I have room for the car I would go get a heuberger car right now. They have several on the lot and seem to get a steady allocation and some say beat VIP pricing. http://www.heubergermotors.com/new-i...ventoryListing
